Vickie frowned slightly and then chuckled. "I thought about it, and I think you are right."
"But I don't want to go back to the Taylors. Do you have anywhere to stay outside? I’ll go to your place to stay for a few days for now, alright?"
"Outside?" Jennie was stunned. She got back to her senses and quickly said, "Yes, but that’s our company's employee dormitory. The environment there is very poor. You won’t be used to living there."
"I will get used to it," Vickie interrupted her without thinking.
Jennie frowned upon hearing this as she did not want to take her there. After all, that kind of place...
Vickie saw through her awkwardness, so she smiled and said, "I’ll just stay there for two days, and I will move out."
Jennie nodded. "Fine then."
The two turned around and walked out together.
In the black Rolls Royce, the man watched them leaving. His eyes deepened, and his face quickly sank.
The condition in the dormitory where Jennie lived was naturally not that good.
Jennie thought that Vickie would be disgusted, but she entered naturally like it was nothing.
Jennie stopped studying after graduating from high school and was working as a waiter in a nightclub. She did not have to go to work during the day since she only starts working at 6:00 pm.
The dormitory was allocated fairly to them by the company. There were three bedrooms and a living room with three girls living in it. The place was quite spacious, but it was in an old area and the environment was not that comfortable.
There was a large garbage dump not far away because there were groups of people inside, so there were things everywhere.
As soon as they entered the room, they could sense a foul odor coming towards them.
Jennie was a little embarrassed. After they entered the room, she hurriedly cleaned up while asking Vickie to take a seat.
Since Vickie did not dislike the place at all, she just sat down naturally.
Jennie put some dirty clothes into the washing machine and said, "They are all out now. I’ll get some of my clothes for you, so you can take a shower first. I’ll introduce them to you once they’re back."
Vickie nodded.
Soon, Jennie finished cleaning up and gave Vickie a set of her own clean new clothes that had not been worn much before inviting her to take a bath.
Vickie took it and went into the bathroom. She only came out after more than half an hour.
The simple dress complemented her fair skin. Compared to Jennie’s tenderness, she exuded a mature charm.
Jennie looked at her with a daze. For a moment, she smiled unnaturally.
"Sis, the style of this dress doesn't suit you well, but it doesn't matter. I’ll have the day off tomorrow, so I’ll accompany you to the mall to buy some clothes that you’ll need."
Vickie did not refuse her kindness and nodded. She smiled and said, "Okay, thank you."
After taking a shower, Jennie went to buy some ingredients back to cook.
Her current salary was not high. Bryan Taylor had placed high hopes on the child in Vanessa Thomas's womb.
However, as soon as she was born, he realized that it was a girl again, and suddenly he did not care for it.
Since then, he often went out to drink. He did not care much about the family and did not cherish his daughter much.
She would never have mistaken it. He was the owner of the black Rolls Royce that was parked there today.
So, what was he there for?
To get even with her?
Or was it to laugh at her, ridicule her, and joke about her?
Vickie thought silently and slightly narrowed her eyes quietly.
At this moment, there was the sound of people walking outside and girls giggling around.
She came back to her senses, and when she looked up, she saw that the door was opened from the outside. Two tall girls in fashionable dresses appeared at the door.
"Hey, Jen, do you have a guest?"
It was Jennie’s two roommates who had just returned. Both of them were colleagues who worked in the same company as her.
Jennie quickly put down the ingredients in her hand and introduced, "Ah, yes, let me introduce you. This is my sister. Sis, these are my roommates. This is Abby Turner and that’s Sandy Boyle."
Abby was a tall, slim girl with thin eyebrows and eyes. She seemed to have a bright personality.
Sandy, who was beside her, looked relatively neutral. Upon seeing a stranger there, the smile on her face quickly disappeared and she looked relatively cold. She had short hair and looked like a straightforward person.
Vickie stood up to greet them naturally, "Hello, my name is Vickie Thomas, and I’m Jennie's half-sister."
They had heard that Jennie had an elder sister.
