Reina had left the bird’s nest there and never touched it afterward. Since everyone knew that she was in charge of Yuliana and Vickie’s meals, no one would touch the ingredients for them.
What exactly was going on here?
Reina could not help but panic.
Vickie, however, was not anxious. She first took another close look at the bird’s nest and had someone call for Mr. Osborne to confirm that what he sent over before was indeed bird’s nest of the highest quality.
Only then did she turn to look at the group of servants again.
“During this time, who else was on duty in the kitchen, besides Reina?”
Everyone looked at each other and exchanged glances.
Then, three maids stepped forward.
Vickie looked at them and asked, “Are you all kitchen maids?”
The three shook their heads. It was unknown whether it was because they were afraid of Vickie or because they were shy, but their heads were all lowered.
They said softly, “No, Miss Thomas. We were just helping in the kitchen, washing dishes and doing chores and such.”
Vickie raised her brows.
“Have any of you touched Reina’s ingredients?”
“No.”
The three denied in unison and shook their heads.
Vickie fell silent.
Just then, one of the younger maids said, “Actually, since the bird’s nest was kept by Sister Reina, it’s impossible for others to get it. After all, she always locks precious ingredients in the cupboard. We can’t get it since we don’t have the key.”
As soon as that was said, Reina quickly piped up, “Yes, Miss Thomas. Since there are many people in the chateau, I’m afraid that someone would have sticky fingers and do something vulgar, so I usually keep valuable items sent over in a cupboard. Only I have the key to the cupboard.”
Vickie raised her brows and stretched out her hand. “Let me look at the key.”
Reina hurriedly pulled out a small iron-gray key from her pocket and handed it to Vickie with both hands.
Vickie took it and saw that it was just an ordinary key. With this, it seemed like the lock was also just an ordinary lock as well.
However, it was already proven that ordinary people would not be able to touch it without the key.
After all, it was unnecessary to pick locks and take such a big risk just for some bird’s nest.
At this thought, Vickie’s gaze flickered slightly.
Yuliana, however, had lost her patience.
She shouted impatiently, “Vickie, what the hell are you still dawdling around here for? Isn’t it obvious what happened?
“The bird’s nest sent over was indeed high quality, and only she has the key. Now that the bird’s nest has somehow been replaced, who else could it be if not her?”
Vickie looked up at Yuliana.
Her eyes were cold.
Yuliana was inexplicably flustered at her gaze and immediately stopped talking.
Vickie then turned and looked at Reina.
“Is there surveillance in the kitchen?”
Reina was slightly stunned at the question.
She quickly nodded, “Yes.”
“Let me see.”
Thus, the group took Vickie and headed to the kitchen.
Since Vickie still had an injury on her arm, it was inconvenient for her to operate the computer, so it was Andrea who helped her.
Andrea nodded and dragged the progress bar back twenty seconds.
Vickie told her not to fast forward it and looked closely.
In the picture, everyone was busy with their work. They soon finished what they were doing and then left, one after another.
Andrea looked at the computer for a long time but could not see anything wrong. She frowned in confusion.
“Miss Thomas, what’s wrong with this clip?”
Vickie’s voice was calm and she said in a low voice, “Rewind it another ten seconds and let me see.”
Although Andrea was puzzled, she agreed and dragged the progress bar back, and let Vickie watch again.
This time, Vickie was finally sure.
Just as the screen played to a certain moment, she said, “Right here, pause it.”
Andrea quickly clicked pause.
Vickie then said, “Alright, you guys don’t have to watch anymore.”
Everyone was stunned and looked at her in confusion.
When Vickie was watching the footage, Yuliana had been standing to the side as if watching a joke. That was because she was already certain that no matter how much Vickie looked into it, she would only find that it was Reina’s fault.
Therefore, she was in no hurry at all. If not for the fact that Gregory did not allow her to get close to him, she would have already gone over to chat with him to relieve her boredom.
Seeing everyone stop now, she scoffed out, “How is it? Did you finally find out the truth?”
Although the words sounded like concern, the tone was full of sarcasm and smugness.
