Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 872

Caught by surprise, Vickie frowned. She then noticed Gregory beckoning to Harold who was standing not far away.

Harold immediately handed over an item.

Upon receipt, Gregory passed it on to Vickie. “Take a look.”

Vickie acquired the item for a glance. It was a map.

Gregory said, “This thing was tattooed on his back. We couldn’t tell in the beginning what it was, but it was Harold who spotted something fishy about the outlines of the tattoo. We got this map after close inspection and got someone to draw the same.”

With a frown, Vickie inspected the twisting and winding lines before asking, “What’s the location on this map?”

Gregory shook his head. “I don’t know.”

“Don’t know? That’s not good news.” She was discontent.

Gregory chuckled softly. “This indeed wouldn’t be good news if the clue stopped there, but by chance, I thought it looked familiar when Harold handed me the map, so I compared it with the jade we got from the auction, and guess what happened?”

Vickie looked at him in a daze.

He took out the jade from the side and gave it to her. “Set it side by side and see for yourself.”

Vickie accepted the jade and placed it on the paper for comparison. After a while, she was astounded to find the map drawn on the paper an exact match to the pattern on the jade.

Wh-what was going on?

Gregory solemnly explained, “I suspect that the pattern on the jade isn’t some writing but is part of a large piece of a map.

“Didn’t our investigation conclude that there are twelve of these jades? Perhaps each of them has a different pattern, representing a section of the map. We’d be able to piece together an entire map if we collect all twelve jades and find what we’re really looking for.”

Vickie squinted her eyes. She had a feeling that things seemed to be getting out of hand. She turned to Gregory and asked, “But why is this tattooed on his back? Isn’t he afraid that it will be found out?”

He shook his head. “I’m unsure about this myself, but it can prove that he was lying to us, or at least, he wasn’t telling the whole truth.”

Vickie frowned.

With the events unfolding to this point, she shared the same thought.

Although Terrence was unhappy with the status quo provided to them by Gregory, he could not leave. Otherwise, they would face Gregory’s wrath.

This led to Terrence hammering out a deal with these people and doing what he had done when they sought him out for help at the promise of money and power.

If the truth was indeed as mentioned, then how would it explain the tattoo on his back?

He could not possibly be clueless about the tattoo. Otherwise, why would he have agreed to get a strange pattern tattooed on his body?

On the other hand, if he did know, it meant that Terrence had long picked up on something.

It was possible that the matter was not as he said. He might have agreed to do those things because he had other intentions in mind.

Those people might have merely come across him by chance, or maybe it was just an attempt by Terrence to pull wool over everyone’s eyes.

Could Terrence be, in fact, the person, who was secretly sent by the other party, to lurk around Gregory from the start?

Neither did Vickie know nor could she be certain, but one thing was for sure: things were beyond complicated.

Although a lot of people were aware of the Arcane Jade, only a handful had seen the pattern on the jade with their very own eyes.

She had her doubts about how this person was able to chance upon this pattern and got it tattooed on his back too.

Andrea glanced at her and smiled. “Sister Vickie, what did you talk to the young master about?”

Turning over, Vickie took a glance and chuckled. “Why the question?”

“Oh, nothing. I was just curious.” Her blinking eyes gave away her gossipy nature.

Vickie was feeling an inexplicable embarrassment from the stare. She had done nothing, yet the look the girl was giving her seemed to hint otherwise.

Unable to help herself, Vickie raised her arm and gently tapped on Andrea’s head. She lightly scolded her, “Don’t jump to conclusions!”

After a pause, Vickie suddenly turned towards Andrea and enquired in all smiles, “What about you? I saw you together with Jonathan today. Have you known each other for a long time?”

Andrea’s face quickly blushed at Vickie’s prying question. She fumbled for the words to say. “W-we haven’t known each other for long.”

Clicking her tongue, Vickie shook her head. “Why do I think that this isn’t the case? Judging by how familiar you are with each other, it doesn’t look like you just met.”

All the more Andrea’s complexion turned flushed red. She seemed to be anxious but could not find the right words to explain herself.

After a while, she gave in. “Sister Vickie, stop poking fun at me. Brother Jonathan and I come from the same place. I guess we’re homies, hence why the exchange, but there’s nothing going on between us.”

A sense of loss fleeted across her eyes.

Vickie was a shrewd person, and although Andrea tried her utmost to hide her feelings, Vickie could still tell at a single glance.

Putting the jokes aside, Vickie adopted a stern countenance. With her eyes on Andrea, she asked seriously, “Aren’t you two together yet? Or perhaps, you like him but he’s unaware of it?”

By then, Andrea was already blushing scarlet in the face.
