Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 920

With that, Nell responded with a simple, “Ok.”

Gideon asked, “Weren’t you playing poker? Why are you here? Did they stop?”

Nell replied, “They stopped. The game ended and we felt a bit hungry so we were thinking of getting some supper. I came to ask if you wanted some so that the kitchen maids can make more food.”

Gideon did not answer right away but instead, he looked to Gregory and Liam.

Gregory was sweating from whatever he was doing earlier.

As Gregory wiped his sweat with a towel, he said, “I’ll have some.”

Liam nodded too. “Then I’ll have some too.”

So Nell replied, “Alright, then I’ll go and let them know.”

Then, she turned to leave.

Unexpectedly, just as she was about to walk, Gregory stopped her for a moment.

“Ah, wait.”

Nell turned her head to look at him. “Yes?”

Gregory grinned. “When you get there, tell Vickie to come out here for a moment, there’s something I wanted to talk to her about.”

Nell raised an eyebrow, searching Gregory’s face for an answer but found nothing, and hence she just nodded and said, “Sure.”

Once she left them, she headed straight to the kitchen.

In the meantime, Vickie was asking the kitchen maids for supper.

It was a simple supper of shrimp dumplings. They were relatively refreshing and light, perfect for the current season.

When Nell returned, Vickie asked, “So? Are they eating?”

Nell nodded. “Yeah, all three of them, so you can ask the maids to make a bit more.”

Vickie nodded back. “Alright, I got it. “

With that, she turned around and updated the kitchen maids.

Nell stood aside and waited for her to finish talking, not leaving the kitchen.

Only when Vickie was done she said, “By the way, Gregory wanted to see you outside in the courtyard about something.”

Vickie stared at Nell in shock.

“Me? Why is he looking for me?”

Nell grinned as if it was nothing. “Who knows?”

Though she suddenly thought of a possibility and her eyes shone with a devilish glint.

“Who's to say that it might be a surprise for you? Now, now, hurry over. If you’re late, you might lose it.”

Vickie froze for a moment before smiling.

“That’s impossible. He’s not that kind of romantic person.”

Despite saying that, her footsteps were uncontrollably quick as she headed to Gregory.

Nell was curious too so she followed after her.

Midway, they ran past Janet, who noticed them moving hurriedly. She asked curiously, “What are you doing?”

Nell replied, “I’m going to see something interesting.”

Something interesting?

Janet paused before she jumped off the sofa.

“Interesting? I wanna see too!”

Normally there would be lights all everywhere but tonight, it was pitch black. As a result, she felt like she was bathed in darkness.

Vickie was a little scared despite knowing her surroundings well. She had always been afraid of the dark and with her emotions unstable, she felt like something bad was going to happen any moment. Hence, it terrified her even more.

She was not kept waiting long.

Gregory‘s low voice said, “Start.”

An affirmative “mn” replied and the place was suddenly bathed in light.

It was not just the light from a single lamp but countless little lamps that were floating from the ground.

Many even brushed past her as they floated up into the sky.

Startled, Vickie subconsciously looked up to the sky. That was when she saw a drove of little drones hovering in the sky and forming a picture.

That picture…

Vickie’s heart skipped a beat.

The countless little lanterns lined up nicely to form a picture of the time she met Gregory when she was eight years old.

Gregory’s low yet magnetic voice came from above her.

“You were eight that year we met. Back then we were kids, I never thought that so much would happen to us.”

“I still remember when I first met you, you had your hair in two little braids. You were small but your attitude certainly wasn’t. You told me that there were eyes and ears everywhere and that you were Grandpa Glenn’s granddaughter. You said I was his disciple and that extended to mean that we were siblings. I told you I didn’t want to be your brother.”

“You were so sad at the time and cried so much. Although I looked calm, I was panicking inside because I never knew that girls cried so much so easily.”

The man smiled softly as if reminiscing the past.

All those beautiful images were like the finest wine in the world, preserved in our memories, becoming richer and more beautiful as time went on.

Another “mn” sound was spoken and the lights suddenly changed into a different image.
