"I've been waiting for you."
"Silver Fox wants to throw down with me?"
"You up for it?"
"Haha! Of course, I am! But let me catch my breath. I haven't worked out like this in ages, I'm beat..."
"Mm-hmm." Sebastian handed her a bottle of water.
Stephanie took a long gulp and said with an innocent face, "Thanks, Silver Fox."
"There's my good girl."
And then Cyrus showed up, muttering under his breath, "Good girl, my foot."
She'd bailed on their game halfway through. There was nothing "good girl" about that.
Was Sebastian really all that?
Suddenly, Cyrus didn't feel like sticking around anymore.
"Bro, I'm gonna head out. Got some stuff to handle."
Putnam nodded. "If you're not feeling it, head back to the office."
"Yeah."
After saying his goodbyes to Stephanie, "Hey Steph, I'm taking off."
"What? You're done playing?"
"Got some stuff."
Knowing the one you're into is all chummy with someone else? That's a bitter pill no one should have to swallow.
Cyrus left with his heart heavy.
"Alright then... Let's catch up for a game another time, bye."
