Still You Still Me Still Falling novel Chapter 50

Pippa Golding knew Sheila was at the event too, and she was so furious she skipped dinner entirely.

She called Thurston Golding and found out Sheila was only there for work.

She hadn't chased Edmond here.

That allowed Pippa to breathe a small sigh of relief.

But even so, she couldn't let her guard down.

To Edmond, Sheila was clearly entirely different from anyone else.

Even knowing she was just an ex-girlfriend was enough to drive Pippa insane with jealousy.

Especially seeing Sheila at the gala tonight, that seething jealousy peaked into absolute hatred.

At the same time, she was completely baffled as to why the man standing next to Sheila was Cecil Rhodes.

Cecil was practically royalty, not to mention dangerously handsome. The first time Pippa had ever laid eyes on him, she had been momentarily stunned into silence.

But after witnessing firsthand exactly how twisted and psychopathic Cecil could be, all of her awe had instantly morphed into sheer terror.

Rumor had it that not a single woman who got involved with Cecil ever met a good end.

And now Sheila was wrapped up with him...

Pippa's mind spun with countless horrific scenarios of how miserably Sheila's life was going to end.

She remembered hearing about a woman who had cheated on him once... rumor had it he had her dumped in the middle of a remote wilderness to fend for herself...

Pippa shuddered violently just thinking about it.

But what if Sheila ended up betraying Cecil too?

Pippa shifted her gaze toward Edmond across the room.

Her resolve hardened, her plan becoming crystal clear.

It was Sheila's first time at an event like this.

Wanting to buy her a gift, Cecil handed her the auction catalog and told her to pick whatever she wanted.

Sheila flipped through the pages, seeing nothing but ultra-high-end jewelry she had never even seen in real life before.

But she had absolutely zero interest in things like that. Besides, she would never accept something so absurdly expensive from him anyway.

As the years went by, the city's elite circles practically split into two warring factions because of it.

Cecil knew Edmond wasn't someone to cross lightly, so for years, despite despising each other, they maintained a tense standoff, keeping firmly to their own territories.

But every time Thurston remembered what Cecil had done, his blood boiled.

He'd love nothing more than to have someone stuff Cecil in a burlap sack, tie a cinder block to his feet, and toss him into the ocean.

He already despised Sheila to begin with, so seeing the two of them together instantly ignited a fresh wave of blinding fury.

Edmond's eyes were pitch-black, his expression as dark and volatile as a brewing storm. "Just pretend he doesn't exist."

"Why the hell is Sheila Jensen with him?" Thurston couldn't stop himself from asking. "Now that's a wild plot twist."

Cecil Rhodes was a man known for his psychopathic cruelty, ruthless methods, and brilliant manipulation.

Some claimed he was completely celibate, while others swore he lived a life of absolute debauchery.

It was impossible to tell what the truth really was.

But seeing Sheila with him now, regardless of the reality, left every single man on their side of the aisle feeling violently uneasy.
