The Overseer stood in front of a silver wall on the eastern edge of Ayuvar. This was the place where the last survivors of the last purge had died.
She had just comprehended the Minor Law of Death. Finally, she had a way to escape from this world!
Yet, for just a moment, she hesitated.
Fierce Breaker's words and demeanor shot through her head.
Even though she had destroyed the entire world, Fierce Breaker had still seemed surprisingly calm. When she had comprehended the Minor Law of Death, she had assumed that he would show some signs of shock.
Instead, he had seemed quite calm. It was almost like he had expected it.
The desire to kill Fierce Breaker once more shot through the Overseer's existence, but she pushed it down. While she wanted to kill him, she wanted to see him despair even more. She was stronger and more experienced than him! There was no way that he could beat her with all of the advantages she had!
And yet, his confident demeanor still made her a bit nervous. She felt like she wasn't battling with a random Spirit Lord but with an equal.
She looked at the World Wall. 'I've come this far. I've resisted for so long. Now that I finally have a shot at freedom, I have to be especially careful. I've prepared for this moment for over a billion years. I can't mess this up now!'
She looked at her hand, and a black ball appeared on it.
The attributes of False Death shot through her mind. 'This is just Energy mimicking Death. It has a corrosive and weakening effect on all other kinds of Energy. It can infect normal Energy and turn it into more of itself.'
'Nonetheless, it's still Energy. Reality works with Energy, and this is also just Energy. There are bound to be safeguards for this kind of Energy.'
The Overseer closed her eyes as she did something she hadn't done in an eternity.
She was trying to suppress her human self.
Despite everything, she was still a beast. Acting and thinking like a human came with a lot of advantages, but sometimes, being a beast proved more useful.
'I can't outthink the creator of this World Wall. Their power eclipses mine by a factor approaching infinity. Only humans have the mental capacity to understand the Law of Minor Death, which means only humans might try to destroy the world.'
'I need to think like a beast.'
The Overseer dispersed the black ball, and her hand moved forward to touch the World Wall.
Countless transformations and permutations of Energy washed over her senses. As a Supreme Existence herself, the Overseer could also feel the emotions of the World Wall's existence.
They were as beautiful as they were terrifying and complex. In a way, the World Wall felt like a gigantic Formation Array. Yet, even the most complex Formation Array the Overseer knew was like the spark in front of the World Wall's sun.
The Overseer remained in this position for thousands of years, simply experiencing the endless emotions.
She didn't understand any of them. Their complexity had not lowered even a single bit. She felt like an ant that was trying to understand and visualize the true size of the Supreme World.
No matter how hard she tried, it just seemed impossible.
Even after 20,000 years, she hadn't made any progress.
Yet, her conviction hadn't faltered in the slightest. She had known from the very beginning that she couldn't understand the World Wall's complexity.
That had never been her goal.
Finally, she opened her eyes. She didn't think of anything. She wasn't following any kind of plan.
