The Overseer pushed a ball of False Death towards the World Wall. It had been almost 60,000 years since she had comprehended the Law of Minor Death, and now, she felt like she could finally make a second attempt.
As the ball of False Death approached the World Wall, the Overseer became increasingly nervous. She felt like she was about to commit a horrible mistake.
She gritted her teeth and pulled the ball back.
She had put in so much work and effort, and she still didn't feel comfortable with attempting to break the World Wall.
Would she ever feel comfortable?
Would this ever change?
Or did she need to take a risk?
'It's the right choice. I only have one shot, and if I mess it up, it's all over. My entire life would have been for nothing.'
'I can't commit to something I'm not certain about. Too much is at stake.'
The Overseer changed the composition of the ball and moved it towards the World Wall once again.
The feeling of nervousness returned, and she pulled it back.
Another change, another cancellation.
More changes, more cancellations.
Over the years, the Overseer tried millions of different configurations. None of them felt right. Something inside of her told her that she was not supposed to use False Death on the World Wall.
It was frustrating, being so close to freedom while not having the ability to attain it. Just one move. Just one correct infusion, and everything would be over.
She wanted to take the shot so desperately, but she also knew that she couldn't.
She tried again and again, but nothing changed.
In the end, she dispersed the ball of False Death and put her hand on the World Wall again.
'I just need to get more familiar with it. I need to know more about it. As long as I know more, I can make a more informed decision.'
'Just a bit more time.'
While the Overseer was once more sensing the World Wall, Fierce Breaker focused on comprehending the Law of Major Metal. The world had already recovered to some degree, and there were even some Level Six Law Wells. Without Swamp Dragon's contributions, this would have been impossible.
During his comprehension, Fierce Breaker swung a gigantic hammer repeatedly. He was more comfortable with a spear, but after disguising himself as Kyle, he had also gotten familiar with a hammer.
If he could choose, he would still use a spear as his primary weapon.
'If Swamp Dragon's third trial fails, it's up to me,' Fierce Breaker thought. 'I need to grow as fast as I can. My personal power is integral to the success of the plan.'
'I need to grow quickly enough to entice minor interest in the Overseer. If I just seem like a slightly more talented Seeker, she might just kill me before I can become an Immortal. I don't need enough power to rival her, and frankly, I don't even think I have the ability to do that. As long as I seem just a bit interesting, that's enough.'
'I need to work harder! I need to focus more!'
While Fierce Breaker was training, Swamp Dragon was working on improving the world. They needed more humans and Law Wells. They needed to stabilize the Elemental Dimension.
At the same time, Swamp Dragon was also paying attention to the Energy fluctuations in the world. He was waiting for something specific. If everything worked out, the Overseer would die soon.
