"I was born with an Earth and Water Affinity, and I have received an artificial Affinity for Yin-Biological Energy," Swamp Dragon said.
"Wait, there's Yin-Biological Energy?" Kyle asked.
"You didn't know?" Swamp Dragon asked. "You've seen how my abilities attack Biological Energy."
"Huh, makes sense," Kyle said.
'Shit, I just thought about swamps and poisons, but I'm not on Earth. While many things work similarly, there are also many differences. Acids and poisons are different things on Earth, but they are just the same thing here. I mean, I can see why. Both of them destroy stuff. But then, wouldn't fire also be part of that?'
'I guess it's just more of an anti-biology thing or something.'
"Earth and Water are the best Affinities you can have to create life and to support life," Swamp Dragon said, deciding to explain a bit more for Kyle's sake. "That means they have a great affinity for life itself. Yet, if you just change one simple part, it turns into something that easily interacts with life but with detrimental effects instead of supplemental ones."
"I created a Complex Law out of the Level One Pure Laws of Earth and Water that's related to life. I used this Law to become a Transcendent."
"Afterwards, I focused on the Law of Yin-Biology, which is a Level Two Pure Law. After I understood that, I used it as a base and recreated my Complex Law. My new Law allows me to use the Biological Energy of my target to create hostile life for them. The only way to get rid of my Law is to get rid of the affected body part."
Kyle nodded, impressed. If Swamp Dragon hit a space close to someone's Center or head, things could turn very problematic.
'He's one of those guys who bring business to Medea and Karmic Redemption.'
If someone got affected by Swamp Dragon, they might be able to halt the infection for a while, but they quickly needed help from someone experienced in dealing with these kinds of nasty attacks.
"Then, I'm next!" Kyle said with a smile.
The other two looked at him.
"I kind of cheated a bit, I guess," he said. "I have a natural Affinity for Fire and Wind, and I got an artificial Metal Affinity."
This made the other two raise their brows.
Usually, one got an artificial Affinity that supplemented one's natural Affinities.
In Kyle's case, an Affinity for heat, kinetic energy, or movement would help.
By heating stuff up, one could make it move. That's how combustion engines worked. This would push the Fire Affinity more towards the Wind Affinity.
However, one could also use movement to create heat, which would push wind closer to fire.
Kinetic energy would just be the sweet spot between them.
Giving Kyle an artificial Affinity for kinetic energy would make it much, much easier and faster for him to create Complex Laws related to the concept.
Giving someone another typical Affinity as an artificial one was very unusual.
Sadly, Theodor hadn't known that. He had just wanted to give his inheritor the ability to work with golems and mine ores.
"I comprehended my Complex Law by mixing the Level One Pure Laws for all three Elements. That made a Level Two Complex Law, and I broke through with it, technically making me a Fulfilled Transcendent immediately."
"That must have been difficult," Swamp Dragon said. "You must have fought a lot of battles."
"Oh, yeah, quite a few," Kyle said. "Anyway, my Law essentially uses metal as a fusing agent that pushes my fire and wind forward. Of course, it's been quite a while since I learned that Law, and I already augmented my power a bit more since then."
The other two weren't surprised.
They had both realized that Kyle was stronger than they were.
The two of them were new Fulfilled Transcendents, while Kyle was already working on becoming a Unique Transcendent.
"What other Laws do you know?" Swamp Dragon asked.
"I got Yin-Metal, Yin-Fire, and the Law of Body," Kyle said.
Silence.
