The Medium Sage Demon was, as all Demons were, a strange and alien amalgamation of animal parts. This one had the thick body of a serpent and countless long and thick arms that ended in hands, which had long claws growing out of them.
Every time Kyle saw a Divine Beast, he could see their incredible combat potential. They all had at least one exceptionally powerful weapon, while also having several smaller weapons that defended the spots not covered by the powerful weapon.
Normal beasts were much more like powerful animals with special powers. However, basically all animals had some kind of weak area.
Standing in front of a wolf was threatening, but standing behind it or being on its back was not. These were undefended areas. Being below or in front of a centipede was scary, but, once again, its back and tail were undefended. A hedgehog could defend its back and its sides, but if one could go below it, it would also be mostly helpless. With a weapon, a human could defend their front, but their back was still vulnerable.
Yet, most of the Divine Beasts didn't have these weak spots. For example, the Medium Sage Demon in front of Kyle used its head as its most powerful weapon. If it were a normal snake beast, Kyle would just need to get to its body to kill it. Meanwhile, this Medium Sage Demon had countless hands with thin, long, and pointy needles or claws. If he got close to any part of the Demon's body, he would need to defend from several attacks. Usually, one would go for its tail in this case, but the issue was...
There was no tail. There was just a second head.
The serpent immediately noticed and targeted Kyle. Based on the color of its body and the Energy surrounding it, the serpent had a Wind and Lightning Affinity. This thing was fast and explosive.
Kyle took the serpent seriously, but he also knew that it would just barely count as a True Battle. As a New Sage, he had already managed to kill Early Demons, which had been a jump of 1.25 levels against a Divine Beast. However, during these battles, Kyle hadn't been able to experiment with his powers since these had been actual True Battles.
Meanwhile, this serpent was technically only 0.5 levels above Kyle. It would still require effort to kill, but its power was just right for experimenting.
The serpent charged towards Kyle as lightning gathered on its claws. At the same time, dense waves of Gravity Wind Energy gathered in its two mouths.
As the serpent approached, it unleashed two powerful waves of Gravity Wind Energy that covered all of Kyle's escape routes.
Kyle activated his Momentum, and his Soul connected with the waves. Due to his mastery over Gravity Wind, Kyle could weaken the waves considerably. Strengthened by his Infused Body Law, Kyle's physical defense was substantial, but these waves would still damage him.
Due to their immense potential, most Medium Sage Divine Beasts already had physical powers comparable to the physical power of a Major Sage with a Level Five Infused Body Law. Meanwhile, Kyle's Infused Body Law was only Level 3.5. He had condensed it in the Transcendent Realm, but now, he was in the Wisdom Fire Realm. A Level 3.5 Law was just average for this Realm.
As the waves approached, the space around Kyle's hammer warped. He activated his Law of Hammer, which had been improved a bit.
When he had come to Ayuvar, he had only been able to use 5% of his Energy with his Law of Hammer, but now, he could use 10%, even though his total Energy had also increased due to his two recent advancements.
This meant that the level of Kyle's Imposing Law had increased, but he also knew that the quality of it had increased. After all, if the quality hadn't increased, he would have made some progress on condensing his Refined Law. He just didn't know to what level the quality of his Imposing Law had increased.
Kyle swung his hammer, and a whirlpool of chaotic Energies appeared in front of him. The serpent's attack entered the whirlpool and became unstable, but eventually, the power of the attack overwhelmed the whirlpool.
Kyle held his hammer forward, and the wave of Gravity Wind Energy scattered to the sides as his arm shook under the strain. Some parts of Kyle's legs received some cuts, but these were minor injuries that healed without any issues.
He had dealt with the attack without using his Domain or his Law of Black Hole. This was the doing of just his three Infused Laws and his Law of Hammer.
The serpent ignored its failed attack and just kept charging towards Kyle, gathering even more Energy. Just when it was about to reach Kyle, it unleashed two focused beams of cutting Gravity Wind Energy. At the same time, the lightning on its claws crackled.
