Chapter 2280: Are you sure you have made your mind?

Zoop

After a strange bleep, something surprising happened. The Golden Light that was spread all over Arravali’s sky disappeared in an instant, and a voice was heard.

"Why are you here in my World, Seraphielle?"

It was the Infinity of Eternity.

Orravyn Eternity.

The moment Seraphielle heard that voice, her eyes darted to where it came from, and there he was—

A being with an aura that was no weaker than Seraphielle’s. His entire body seemed like it was shaped from stardust and shadow, his face looked elongated and angular with a stone-like skin that glowed faintly.

His eyes didn’t have pupils, and even in front of the enraged Seraphielle, he looked calm. It was almost... unsettling to see the difference in demeanour between them.

His ancient grimoire continued to hover near him. His loose hood covered most of his features, almost as if they were secrets that should never be revealed.

There was an incomprehensible aura around him, something that Seraphielle couldn’t care less about.

She just raised her eyebrows at his words—

"Your... world?"

She asked. The threat and intent behind her voice were clear.

But of course, just like Seraphielle didn’t care about his appearance, Orravyn couldn’t care less about Seraphielle’s mood either.

"Did you come here without knowing? Aravalli is no longer a world that belongs to the Light Faction.

They are now part of the Eternity Faction. They would rather seek the endless knowledge the vast Universe has to offer than play pretend."

For a moment, Seraphielle paused at those words, then she dangerously narrowed her eyes.

"Are you sure you want to do this?"

"There is nothing I am doing."

Orravyn answered with the same calm tone.

"A world came to me, wishing to join my faction and become part of the journey we represent, and I simply accepted that plea—

How is any of it related to you?"

"Aravalli was my world."

Seraphielle spoke directly.

"Its leader submitted to my faction."

"Yes, I am aware of that."

Orravyn nodded.

Seraphielle narrowed her eyes and Orravyn—

"But that was in the past.

The same leader who submitted to your faction came to mine, wanting to join m—"

"Poaching a world from another faction is forbidden, you know that."

Seraphielle cut him off, not letting him speak any longer. All her tact and graceful look seemed like they were falling apart, and Orravyn’s answer was simple.

"I did not approach Aravalli or any of their beings. You can read their memories if you so desperately wish to.

And since I did not approach them, this cannot be considered ’poaching’. This is merely a world leader realizing that his previous decision was a mistake and now he wishes to change that.

There are no rules that stop him from doing that.

World Leaders can choose any faction they wish to join. Though this is the first time in the history of our Universe that a world willingly decided to change its faction,

so I understand how humiliated you must feel.

And for that—

I would like to apologize, but other than that—

There is nothing else I can do to help you."

Orravyn answered calmly. Seraphielle, however, did not notice that small, cheeky grin that almost every other being would have missed.

Orravyn knew he held the advantage and he...

He was looking down on her.

Seraphielle clenched her fists when she realized it. Her golden eyes burned intensely, almost as if she wanted to set everything here on fire.

But she knew she couldn’t start anything here.

Orravyn had already appeared. It was clear that this wasn’t something he would be willing to let go. That would be no different than stepping back from his world—the entire Universe would laugh at him if the news spread—

Which, she knew it would, because somehow she knew Anomaly was watching this from a distance.

Watching and smiling at it all. Right now, however, Anomaly wasn’t the bigger issue, it was Orravyn.

Seraphielle knew he wouldn’t leave and Aravalli... it didn’t hold enough importance for her to challenge an Infinity for its sake, but that didn’t mean she could let this go either—

"Aravalli’s leader. I wish to talk to him."

"What...?"

Orravyn’s expression changed. He seemed a little... surprised, as if he wasn’t expecting that reaction.

"I have a reason to believe you played one of your dirty tricks, and I wish to confirm whether that is true or not on my own.

So bring the leader."

The Infinity of Light spoke with a cold look on her face. Her immediate anger had already calmed down and was now replaced with the cold, calculated woman who had started to realize everything and prepared a counterattack, however unsuccessful that may be.

Orravyn stared at her for a while. He obviously understood what Seraphielle wanted to do, so in the end, he let her have it her way.

With a wave of his hand, the Progenitor of Aravalli appeared with a confused and slightly hesitant look on his face.

His name was Aurel Aravalli, a serpentine creature made of layered crystal-scale plates that looked like stained glass. His body floated in slow coils, impossibly long, with six thin, ribbon-like wings trailing behind him like banners.

He had a smooth ’mask’ of pale gold where his face should have been, and a single vertical slit of white fire for an eye.
