"If that happens, then that Faction would be facing three other Factions that are just as strong, if not stronger than it.
What do you think would be the result of that battle?"
The Infinity of Eternity asked with a big grin on his face, and for an instant—
Aurel did not know what to say.
Aurel wasn’t a fool.
He was the ruler of a High Level World. He may be young compared to most of the monsters present in this vast Universe, but he didn’t need anyone to translate what Orravyn meant by those words.
If Lady Seraphielle loses control, Lord Orravyn was... prepared to finish it, completely.
And since he was saying that with such strong certainty, it was clear that he had already discussed this with the other two Infinities.
The...
The Three Infinities were prepared to change the Four Infinities ruling the Universe into... just three.
Yes, it would be chaotic. It would make the entire Universe restless for... tens of thousands of years, even a child could see that.
It would be a huge power shift.
Light Faction would be divided into three. There would also be an inevitable fight between the three Factions as to how those parts would be divided. There would be deaths too—lots and lots of them.
And Aurel...
When he imagined all that—the destruction, the chaos, the suffering that came with it all...
He couldn’t help but inwardly feel... relieved.
Relieved by the idea of Lady Seraphielle perishing. And how could he not? He still couldn’t forget her last glare she gave him before leaving.
He could tell that she wasn’t going to drop this matter, not anytime soon.
She would wait, until things calmed down, until people’s attention fell on some other matter, and later, she would plan an ’accident’, an ’accident’ that would harm him and his entire world.
Aurel did not buy the image Seraphielle has been selling to the entire Universe. She wasn’t noble, graceful, forgiving, and whatnot—
She was petty.
And him leaving her side and joining her rival’s would definitely piss her off. It would put a certain target on his back and... he would be glad once the one who put that target on him... perishes.
He, however, just had one question—
"But... if the other three Factions defeat this Faction, won’t it benefit the thief too? He would have an open hand during the War between the four Factions, making it easier to ’steal’ from anywhere or everywhere he wishes."
Aurel wanted to continue, he wanted to complete his question, but—
"The Four Factions are fighting because the thief is that good in the first place. The War would make it chaotic, no doubt. But would that benefit the thief? A being who can appear and disappear as he pleases?
Contrary to what most believe, the answer to that question is...
Not much.
You may think the thief would benefit, but what benefit would there be? Sure, the Worlds would have lower levels of protection since the defenders would be out for war but—
Have the defenders been able to stop that thief, even when they were present?"
Aurel listened carefully, his mind churning as he realized it as well.
Orravyn smiled and—
"The thief has been stealing for centuries now. He has only been more rampant in the past five years. Trust me, this isn’t difficult for him, not one bit.
So the only thing the War would benefit him with would be to lower the amount of work he has to do. It would just remove one extra step—dealing with the so-called defenders before devouring the world."
For a moment, Aurel didn’t say anything. He was still thinking, processing everything the Infinity of Eternity just said.
In his mind, he was constantly thinking about how strong the ’thief’ actually is, and whether he underestimated him till now.
And the more he thought about it, the more... another question began to bother him.
"If the Four Factions fight...
Wouldn’t it still benefit the thief?
Since he would now only need to deal with three Factions, Factions that are weakened by a recent war."
He asked.
Orravyn looked at him for a moment, then an amused smile appeared on his face, and he dropped all the hypothetical thief and faction analogies they had been talking about—
"Do you truly think Seraphielle is strong enough to weaken three other Infinities on her own?"
He asked directly.
Aurel paused for a moment.
He honestly did not know the answer to this question. In his mind, the Four Infinities were the four strongest beings in the Universe. As to how strong they actually were, he did not know.
He, unlike some other Eternals, hadn’t seen them fight. He had only felt their aura—that suppressing, suffocating aura that could take his life at any moment.
As for whether Seraphielle was strong enough to ’weaken’ the other three Infinities, he didn’t know. He just knew—
"But it will weaken your Factions.
With constant wars and destruction, your factio—"
"Aurel."
Before Aurel could complete his words, Orravyn suddenly called out. Aurel stopped instantly, waiting for Orravyn’s next words.
"How large is your Aravalli army?"
He remembered how, when he was asked what happens when four billion of his soldiers disappeared, he didn’t even bother asking which four billion—how many Sovereigns, Primordials, or Transcendents—because it... truly did not matter.
