ching the boy a maneuver that the boy just wasn’t

At the farthest sparring circle, Graham stood across from a singular young man. He was teaching understanding. Over and over she watched Graham skillfully take him down. Each time he brought the boy to the ground he helped him up and

showed him in slow motion how to get out of the

e hold Graha

Graham kept pinning him in. Catherine felt saliva fill her mouth as her eyes scanned

down his nearly naked body.

It was the first time she’d seen him without long sleeves and pants on. Hi chest rose and fell hard with his labored breathing. His skin

glistened with perspiration and his dark hair was ruffled from his exercise. His body was sculpted, well-defined muscle. Michelangelo could not

sculpt a more perfect masculine body. She knew he was a hard specimen, she’d felt his skin before, but seeing it was a whole nother monster.

On top of said body she glimpsed the tattoos that lined his skin. She realized none of the men she’d seen from his pack came close to

possessing the same number as him. They started at his right shoulder, went along his arm, over his chest all the way down his torso,

disappeared below his running shorts and continued down to his knee. When he demonstrated the maneuver again she noticed the tattoos also

covered his back. They all resided on his right side. None of them touched his left side, as if his spine and the middle of his abs demonstrated

the separation between his human side and his lycan. Two halves of one whole.

Catherine was staring so hard she never noticed Theo come over to Natali and sweep her into his arms. She also hadn’t noticed Graham go

rigid and pivot to face her. When her eyes finally traced back up to his face, she noticed his expression… and he was not pleased. A loud growl

ripped through the air and she noticed most of the men in the field divert their gaze. She glanced around… were they looking at her? Her eyes

locked back on her mate and his predatory advance. His strides ate up the grass between them and she felt her chest rising sharply with

anticipation.

“Here it comes,” Theo whispered into Natalie’s ear. She giggled as he poked her side. “You’re going to get it now.”

As Graham grew closer his dark eyes fixated on Natalie and Theo. “What the fuck were you thinking bringing her here?” he demanded.

Natalie put on a false expression of shock. “Why, Brother, I’m not sure I know what you mean.”

Graham growled again and took Catherine by her upper arm, dragging her along without breaking stride. Natalie giggled behind them and Theo

smacked her butt as she followed.

“Don’t think I don’t know what you’re doing,” Graham glowered back at his sister.

“I just wanted her to see where you work!” Natalie said.

“Bullshit,” Graham said, turning roughly around to get in Natalie’s face. “ke her home. Now.”

His aura slipped out and Natalie ducked her head in submission. Without Warning, Graham latched his arm around Catherine’s waist, slipped his hand through her hair and crushed his mouth to hers. Catherine melte into him. Before she could touch him though he was letting her go and stalking back to the training field.

“Get back to work!” he barked, sending the warriors scurrying away froms dangerous aura.

Theo sent a flirtatious wave to Natalie before Graham smacked him upside the head as he passed. Theo winked before turning around to follow the angered Lycan. Catherine swiveled and glared at a beaming Natalie. Nalie merely clapped her hands and skipped away.

“Hey! What the hell was that?” Catherine asked, grabbing Natalie by the am so she would slow down and they could walk together.

“That was fun is what that was.”

“He looked pissed!”

“Yeah!” Natalie said, her eyes filled with triumph. Catherine stopped and grossed her arms. She was a second away from angrily tapping her foot as she waited for an explanation. Natalie sighed and looped her arm through Catherine’s. “Look, Graham has always been an up-tight as hat. We’ve been waiting for him to find his mate. We were so excited when he told us. As you may have noticed, he doesn’t talk or show much emotion. I thought bringing you to the training field would provoke him. Natalie shrugged as if that explained everything.

“What are you talking about, provoke him to what?” Catherine asked.

“Oh come on, Catherine. Don’t act like you didn’t notice everyone staring at you.”

Catherine stopped. “What?”

Natalie’s eyebrows rose. “Oh, wow, you didn’t? Okay, I forgot you were raised a wolf. Look… Lycan’s are a bit more primal beings compared to

werewolves. Emotions and desires tend to run us. That’s why Graham has accomplished so much, he holds his emotions in check. Today, when I brought you out onto the field and those guys saw this drop-dead gorgeous unmarked female that is new to the pack it was like if I’d walked

into a bear den at the end of hibernation with a pack of raw steaks.”

“Thanks,” Catherine said, annoyed at the comparison.

“Anyway, when Graham noticed you standing there with all his subordinates one second away from tackling you to the ground, it obviously set

him off. I’ve never seen him jealous before!”

Catherine stared at Natalie with her mouth open. “You purposely set a trap to make your brother jealous?”

Natalie shrugged as they got back on the main road. “Maybe as he’s your mate he’s a bit more open with you. We never get to see any side of

him besides Mr. StoneFace. Theo thought it would be funny and it was kind of pay back for the times Graham’s whooped him for talking about

  1. Neither of us expected you to get all hot and bothered while looking him though. That certainly exacerbated the situation.”

Catherine’s face turned red hot. “What?! You could… tell?” she whispered

Natalie laughed and patted her arm. “Honey, everyone could tell. You know the steak analogy? Yeah, he was the steak and you were the bear.

The way you were eye-fucking him it’s a miracle he was able to keep his can side from stripping you naked and claiming you right there in

front of his men.”

Catherine thought to deny it. She wanted to smack Natalie again for saying such a thing. Instead she had to fight the desire to gloat. I mean

he’s her brother. She couldn’t tell her that seeing him nearly naked and sweaty made her want to strip him naked and claim him for everyone

to see. Instead of saying that she hugged her new friend, silently thanking her for the glimpse at her strong, possessive mate.
