Chapter 208 The Hope Guild
From this height. Riley could see the entire layout of her shelter and even look past the walls to the white wastes and her private
coal mine.
Ash let out a series of chirps, clearly crowning this as his favorite spot.
He flapped his wings excitedly, taking off from the terrace to circle the camp once before landing firmly on the railing.

After the tour, night had completely fallen.
But for Riley, the dark was no longer something to fear.
The gold-red glow of the Intermediate Altar combined with the house lights to make the entire territory look like a beacon of civilization.
Dinner was served in the newly expanded dining room.
Full and content, Riley slumped onto the sofa and opened the small group
“SpicyBurger: Everyone here? Had dinner yet?”
“PineappleBeer: Just finished. What’s up?”
chat.
“TartKing: Riley! I just saw a system banner! Someone hit Lv. 5 with their shelter! It’s you, right? It has to be you!”
“SpicyBurger: You guys get notifications for that?”
“TartKing: Just a standard global scroll. I caught it while I was lurking in some channels.”
“SpicyBurger: Turns out I was only in the top ten. This region has some real heavy hitters hiding in the shadows.”
“TartKing: What? Someone is actually faster than you?”
“SpicyBurger: I was a bit surprised myself. Anyway, prep work is done. Ready to launch the Guild?”
The atmosphere in the chat turned serious as they got down to business.
୮
“PineappleBeer: Definitely.”
“TartKing: The name! What are we calling it?”
Riley stared at the screen, her fingers hovering over the keys.
She had actually decided on the name during the trek back from the forest.
“SpicyBurger: Let’s go with ‘Hope!”
“SpicyBurger: We have the ‘Dawn Watcher’ titles, and honestly… in this hellhole, hope is the one thing everyone is starving for.”

Tartking Flow it too? Hands” Warm
Riley closed the chat and pulled the item card from her bag
“System Announcement: Global Broadcast!”
“Congratulations to player SpicyBurger for successfully founding a Guild!”
“Guild ID: 008”
“Guild Master: SpicyBurger”
Riley quickly worked through the Guild interface.
“Inviting player PineappleBeer to join the Guild.”
“Inviting player TartKing to join the Guild.”
Both accepted the invitation instantly.
“Appointing PineappleBeer as Guild Vice-Master.”
“Appointing Tartking as Guild Vice-Master.”
“Alright, the skeleton is built.”
Riley looked at the empty member list containing only three names, yet she felt a surge of confidence.
“Let’s see the features.”
She clicked on the “Guild Territory” tab.
At Lv. 1, the functions were basic but extremely practical.

“Resource Marking and Protection: Mark one resource node on the map. Once marked, it is considered private property and will not vanish during map refreshes.”
“This is huge!”
Riley didn’t hesitate for a second, opening the map and circling the Open-Pit Coal Mine near her base.
“System: Resource node ‘Open-Pit Coal Mine’ marked. This area is now under system protection.”
“Whew…” Riley let out a long sigh of relief.
She had been worried that she’d wake up one day and find her mine had been de-spawned. Now, her status as a Coal Tycoon was officially secured.

Guild Vault and Contribution System:
This was essentially an internal exchange market.
Members could deposit excess supplies-gear, materials, food-to earn “Contribution Points
These points could then be spent to withdraw items others had deposited, or to purchase Guild Buffs and special items.
“This is perfect.”
Riley nodded in approval before her gaze fell on a grayed-out icon.
“Guild Portal (Locked): Requires Guild Level 2.”
“Current Guild Experience: 1,000/5,000 (Founding Reward: 1,000)”
The Portals…
That was the feature Riley wanted most.
With it, TartKing and PineappleBeer could visit her at any time, and her own travel would be much easier.
“Only 4,000 XP to go.”
She checked the level-up requirements.
“Guild Experience Gain: Members completing guild tasks, donating rare resources, or spending contribution points on ‘Construction’.”
Since there were only three of them, putting resources in didn’t feel like a loss.
Riley took a portion of her coal stockpile and dumped it directly into the vault.
“System: Guild Master SpicyBurger listed High-Quality Anthracite x 500. Contribution Points earned: 500.”
