by side Seeing the battle formation finally stabilize, Riley spun right back to the front lines and stood side by side with PineappleBeer and
the others.
A brutally lopsided, desperate defensive counterattack officially began.
Roar-
Dozens of fast-climbing abyssal monsters charged forward at the lead, letting out ear piercing screeches before slamming into the frontline shields of the WarWolf Guild like cannonballs.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The sheer impact sent several frontline warriors coughing up blood on the spot. Their arm bones cracked with sharp snaps, broken instantly under the blow.
“Keep firing! Lay down suppressing fire with Gust Light Crossbows! Don’t let them catch their breath!” Southwind roared at the top of his lungs.
Whoosh-whoosh-whoosh-whoosh-
Survivors in the rear pulled their triggers in unison. A rain of crossbow bolts slammed into the monster horde, halting their relentless advance.
Melee fighters surged forward right after, hacking and slashing through the swarming monsters.
“It’s working! Keep pushing them back!” someone shouted in relief.
Yet Riley and PineappleBeer kept their faces dark with unyielding tension, not relaxing for even a second.
The monster horde was simply endless.
Before they could finish off the initial wave of twenty-plus monsters, dozens more swarmed over their fallen kin, rolling forward like crashing waves and filling the gap at an even more terrifying pace.
Against this reckless monster wave tactic, the single-target crowd control of the Gust Light Crossbow was barely enough to make a difference.
The only good news was that Riley realized killing these monsters actually gave experience, and a lot of it too. Each one was worth a full 60 points.
Ever since clearing the Monster Forest dungeon, killing the most common monsters on the snowfield, Ghouls, had stopped giving any experience at all. Her level had been stuck at 22 ever since the resource point event
“Ah! Somebody help me!”
A WarWolf warrior’s shield shattered completely. Two monsters pounced on him in an instant, their ring of jagged fangs sinking straight into his neck as they tore wildly at his flesh. His agonized screams died out in barely two seconds, leaving nothing but a mangled mess on the snow.
Panic spread through the WarWolf ranks like a plague, Some tried to edge backward, only to find nowhere to retreat Behind them stood the Icefield Drifters Alliance and Hope Guild survivors, their guild leaders fighting right on the front line-there was no excuse

to fall back. The rear ranks pressed forward relentlessly, leaving the WarWolf players with zero room to flee.

Driven to the edge, the WarWolf survivors snapped into raw desperation. Eyes blazing with frenzy, they roared blindly and swung their blades wildly, hacking at any monster that drew near.
“Watch yourselves-don’t touch that green liquid!”
ToxicReaper’s voice cut through the crowd, though no one could spot exactly where he stood amid the tightly packed survivors.
Seven glass bottles brimming with thick emerald fluid arced through the air in perfect trajectories, smashing dead-center into the densest cluster of monsters.
Crash!
The glass shattered on impact, releasing a thick cloud of Extreme Cold Slowing slime.
It held no lethal power, only a sickeningly strong adhesive effect. Every monster coated in the green goo had their lightning-fast movements slowed to a crawl.
“Nice work, ToxicReaper!”
The nonstop monster assault ground to a brief halt. Seizing the opening, TartKing switched out her wand and stacked buff after buff on everyone nearby.
The other survivors unleashed every trick they had. Some tossed precious fire wall scrolls, blazing barriers erupting across the snow to block the advance. Rare effect-laden item cards were thrown into the fray one after another.
Old grudges were set aside for the moment; every single person fought only to stay alive.
Even so, casualties kept mounting at a horrifying rate.
In just a few minutes of brutal fighting, more than 30 of the forced WarWolf frontline fighters had fallen. Blood stained every inch of snow outside the camp gate, and loot crates littered the ground beneath their feet where fallen survivors had perished.
“Just five more yards! Keep pushing!”
Riley’s stamina drained rapidly with every clash, yet her gaze burned brighter with resolve.
“PineappleBeer! The two on the right aren’t dead yet!”
Γ
“ToxicReaper, you got any more of those potions left?”
“This red one’s a stamina restore potion!” Several red splash bottles soared out from the crowd right after.
The brutal frontline push raged on.
One step.
Two steps.
