Chapter 396 The Fall Of The Alliance Leader

“Roar… urgh…”

The colossal monster let out a pained wail. Its massive frame could no longer hold its balance. Its knees buckled, and it crashed heavily to one knee upon the ravaged frozen ground, smashing two enormous craters into the earth.

The ground trembled violently.

With its core shattered by the catastrophic blast, the thick shroud of black mist that had clung to its body like solid armor faded instantly, drained of all its power until it turned thin and faint.

Its dark red impervious outer shell lost its luster as well.

Its defenses and vital stats plummeted at a rate plain for all to see.

Everyone froze, stunned by the devastating sight.

Riley reached the monster’s face, her tempered steel axes glinting with cold light as she struck hard as the joint of its upper and lower jaws.

Crack!

Before the explosion, the blow would have left nothing but a faint white mark. Now, the monster’s outer shell had barely a fraction of its former defense.

The axes split through its hide. Sickly green fluids mixed with charred black blood gushed out in a torrent.

“Roar!” The monster cried out in agony, instinctively trying to open its jaws wide and sway at Riley with its free arms to drive her away.

“Not a chance.”

Pineapple Beer’s eyes turned icy cold. She drove her two daggers deep into the split Riley had carved, then pried them apart with brutal force.

Working together, the two of them pried the monster’s abyssal jaws wide open once more.

Thick smoke and a nauseating stench of burnt flesh billowed out from the gap.

Bracing against the scorching heat and choking fumes, Riley and Pineapple Beer leaned in to peer into the pitch-black throat.

Nothing.

There was nothing left.

Only shattered scraps of oil barrels littered the inside of its mouth, along with the once glowing scarlet tumor core-now blown to broken fragments, oozing black sludge.

At point-blank range inside a fully sealed giant monster’s mouth, with a full detonation of crude oil at that magnitude, not even a player twice SouthWind’s level could have left any trace behind.

Not even a loot crate remained. He had merged completely into the monster’s flesh and bone.

Hope was shattered the second they laid eyes on the wreckage within.

“SouthWind…”

Riley’s hands tightened around her axes, trembling violently. Even hardened by the end times and always keeping a calm front, her chest ached as if twisted by a rusted blade.

In that same moment, NorthWind stood amid the camp ruins. He had been locked in battle with the
