Chapter 413 Expanding the Base
It was a full size larger than the Drifters‘ basic guild base!

It featured a central plaza paved with smooth stone slabs, a large tavern radiating the smell of ale, a teleportation hall flashing with spatial magic, training grounds, a guild warehouse and even a medieval–style inn.
Everyone unconsciously sped up.
“Don’t just stand there, come on in and take a look!” SweetSauce, Stool, ToxicReaper, and the others were back on their home turf Instantly regaining their usual bubbly energy, they enthusiastically ushered everyone inside.
Because the others had officially joined Hope Guild via the system, NorthWind–who stubbornly remained with the Drifters–was the only one still tagged as a “Third–Party Guild Member.”
Walking at the front, Riley casually swiped her virtual panel open and tapped rapidly on the “Permissions Management” tab.
A system chime rang in NorthWind’s ear. Instantly, the faint shimmering barrier blocking his path vanished. He flashed a smile at Riley and walked into the guild base with the rest of the crowd.
The group gathered in the spacious central plaza.
With a flick of Riley’s wrist, three items emitting different auras materialized in her palm.
She pulled out the Advanced Guild Base Defense Matrix Construction Card first and, without a second thought, activated it.
Rumble-!
The ground began to shake violently.
The plaza had previously lacked any outer defenses. Now, driven by the system’s power, massive stone blocks burst from the frozen earth, rapidly stacking and interlocking like giant building blocks.
In just over ten seconds, a stone wall soaring 16 feet high and over 6 feet thick completely enclosed the entire guild base.
Immediately following that was a deep hum. A nearly transparent magical shield–which only rippled like water when struck by the blizzard–rose from the top of the walls, closing over the base and sealing it perfectly before fading from view.
After all, access permissions only kept out neutrals or allies. If hostile forces tried to mount a forceful assault, the physical walls and magic shield were what would actually keep them out.
But the upgrades weren’t done yet.
Riley quickly activated the two miniature building models.
The existing structures automatically shifted to clear space, and two streaks of light slammed precisely onto two empty foundations in the circular plaza.
As the light faded, two entirely new, distinct buildings appeared before the crowd.
On the left was a white–and–red building with a pitched roof, bearing a prominent red cross above the door.
On the right was a vintage–looking building constructed from heavy oak and red brick. Through its massive floor–to–celling

windows, rows of neat, empty wooden shelves were visible. A plaque over the door read in gilded letters: Library.
Both buildings could be bound to players with specific talents to provide bonuses.
Riley remembered that Nobody had talents in trap–making and medical care. Binding her to the Clinic shouldn’t be a problem.
However, as a survivor, Nobody definitely had her own tasks to manage. She couldn’t babysit the Clinic 24/7–gathering resources and maintaining her campfire were still a survivor’s main priorities.
“Nobody,” Riley called out.
Nobody blinked, realizing Riley was talking to her, and quickly jogged over, her face full of anticipation.
“What’s up, Boss?”
“This Clinic has some special functions. I’m giving you temporary admin rights. I know you’ve got your own daily grind, but the Clinic has a built–in medical supply exchange system. When you’re free, you can use the guild contribution system here to exchange basic medical supplies for everyone. And if we need it, you can use the equipment inside,” Riley explained.
