She reached out and pulled the bouquet of roses from the interface. Even though they had been stored in an inventory, the petals had still lost their moisture, becoming brittle, dry, and faded. However, a faded red ribbon was tied around the stems with incredibly meticulous care.

Next, she flipped open the parchment diary. The handwriting inside had been blurred by moisture, leaving only fragmented, barely legible phrases: Can’t believe I ran into her again, so lucky anniversaryhope she likes this flowerThe blizzard is too strong, I think I’m lostI actually found the snow lotus! She’s saved!

The clues abruptly ended there.

Reading further down, Riley’s gaze finally landed on a lotus flower icon at the very bottom of the crate’s inventory.

She pulled it out.

In an instant, an incredibly pure, freezing aura spilled from the lotus in Riley’s hand, instantly coating the surface of the workbench in a thin layer of white frost.

Accompanying the chilling air was a deeply refreshing, exotic fragrance.

This scent was incredibly similar to the one emitted by the mimic giant catfish in the ruins cave, but it completely lacked that hallucinogenic, mindnumbing quality.

It was the pure, crisp essence of a highaltitude snowfield. Just one breath felt like it washed away all the exhaustion and mental fatigue of the past few days, leaving her mind unnaturally clear.

Riley looked down and saw a palmsized, iceblue lotus resting quietly in her hand.

This wasn’t a fake, mimicking tentacle; this was the real deal.

Its petals looked as if they had been carved from the absolute purest ice crystals, perfectly translucent, with a faint silver glow flowing through its veins. Attached to the bottom of the lotus was a small clump of frozen, pitchblack soil and a few delicate root strands.

Glacial Core Lotus,Riley said aloud.

That massive cluster of fake lotuses in the cave had been a 1:1 replica of the genuine article right in front ofherjust scaled up

several times.

Thankfully, this tiny, genuine lotus had been preserved in a state of spatial stasis inside the loot crate. Combined with its naturally abundant spiritual energy, its condition was still fairly pristine.

Item Name: Glacial Core Lotus

Description: A miraculous plant born from absorbing the essence of heaven and earth in extreme cold regions. A fully matured ice lotus is an incredibly elusive, toptier medicinal ingredient; its naturally shed petals are core materials for crafting toptier ice- enchanted gear and advanced magical potions.

The description was pretty vague and didn’t list specific stat buffs, but it was enough to know it was priceless.

Simultaneously, Riley acutely noticed that the silver glow flowing across the surface of the icecrystal lotus in her palm was dimming at a visible speed. The edges of the petals were even starting to show faint signs of melting, and that crisp fragrance was

Crap! Do I need to plant it?Riley frowned. Without a second’s hesitation, she grabbed the ice lotus from the desk, turned around, and sprinted out of the Tool Room.

Taking the howling, freezing wind headon, Riley bolted straight to an empty patch of ground near the camp’s perimeter wall.

The snow was thick here, and the temperature was brutally low. Logically, it should be the perfect environment for a plant with the Extreme Coldattribute.

Riley drew the battleaxe from her lower back and quickly hacked a hole into the rockhard, frozen snow. She placed the ice lotus, along with its original clump of soil, into the hole and quickly packed snow around its roots.

She crouched in the snow, staring intently at the ice lotus, waiting for a change.

One second, two seconds

No improvement.

Not only did it not improve, but under the brutal physical battering of the blizzard, the ice lotus’s already dim glow grew even weaker. One of the petals even let out a faint crack as a fissure spiderwebbed across it.

No, the environment is wrong, Riley’s mind raced. The system said it absorbs the essence of heaven and earth. This snowfield is cold, but it’s just filled with violent, destructive blizzards. It’s a dead zone! There’s absolutely zero life force or spiritual energy for it to grow!
