The guards had stayed wary at first, but they quickly let their guard down when they saw the group approaching separately with no sign of communication between one another.

The central hall on Floor 8 was the mandatory destination for every survivor from the lower levels. A sudden crowd of twenty players trying to enter the safe zone was nothing out of the ordinary.

Everyone at the back, get in line!

The guard’s voice rose with clear excitement. No pushing! Single file! Anyone who moves out of line gets their legs broken first!

Riley stood in the middle of the queue, her eyes subtly sweeping over the entire outpost.

She counted roughly 60 enemy players in plain sight.

Twenty or so were posted behind the front barricade, in charge of looting and intimidation. Another dozen scattered across each flank, covering the left and right paths. The real threat sat on the rear high platform: three heavy ballistas.

The Ballistas were elevated above ground level, each manned by two operators with extra guards on standby. Their thick arms fired irontipped bolts as sharp as spearsshots no ordinary shield could block.

If the weapons locked onto their formation, her team would definitely suffer fatal casualties.

Riley marked the ballistas as her primary targets.

She continued shuffling slowly forward in line.

A stranger ahead of her had most of his supplies stripped away. His face turned deathly pale, yet he did not dare utter a word. The second he was cleared to pass, a guard kicked him harshly.

Move faster! Get out of the way!

The man stumbled forward, sprinting toward the safe hall. The outpost guards made no move to stop him.

Past that stretch of bridge lay the safe zone, where the raiders had no power to harm them.

Next in line was one of Riley’s guild members. He stepped forward trembling, putting on a convincing act of fear.

Hurry it up!The looting guard snapped. Pull up your inventory interface!

The guild member mumbled, There’s barely anything good inside

You don’t get to decide that! The guard snarled. You were eager enough a second ago. Why are you hiding now?

He reached out, snatched the backpack and tore it open. In that exact moment, Riley took a quiet halfstep forward.

It was a tiny movement, but it was the signal.

In an instant, the previously hunchedover guild member snapped upright. A short dagger slid free from his sleeve, slicing across the guard’s wrist.

A spray of blood burst through the air.

Before the guard could scream, Riley charged forward.

She did not shout. She gave the enemy zero time to react.

She activated her charge skill. Gravel shattered beneath her feet as she burst forward, bowling straight through the two front

barricade sentries.

Drawing one of her axes off her back, she swung sideways, cleaving clean through a makeshift wooden stake and sending the nearest ballista operators scrambling back before they could pose their bolts.

Strike!

Hanna’s command rang out at the same time.

Every seemingly unrelated survivor in the queue erupted into action.

Players pulled Gust Light Crossbows from beneath tattered cloaks, firing three rapid bolts toward the right outpost. Others tossed off their robe disguises, drawing long blades and charging the barricade.

Meanwhile, LoneWolf darted along the left stone wall at blinding speed the second chaos broke out.

The raiders were completely caught off guard by the sudden uprising.

They were no strangers to resistance. In the past, the only fights they faced were small squad skirmishesgroups of ten or twenty desperate players who were instantly crushed by ballista fire and superior numbers.

This time was different,

The assault was perfectly coordinated, every strike targeted.

Riley didn’t waste time on the frontline scuffle.

After cutting down the two blocking guards, she sprinted straight for the elevated platform.

Stop her! Turn the ballistas around!

The guards finally snapped out of their shock, fumbling desperately to rotate the heavy weapons.

The ballistas had been fixed toward the main tunnel entrance. Reorienting their heavy frames took time. The operators flailed at the mechanisms in panic, while bladewielding guards rushed to intercept her.

Riley was already climbing the stone steps.
