Chapter 586 Within Reach of Safety

Chapter 586 Within Reach of Safety

For most of the players here, Floor 15 was basically the finish line for this dungeon run.

TartKing crouched by the resting area, her staff glowing with soft white light.

Two survivors who’d taken a tail hit from the Rockhorn Beast sat against the wall, still looking pale and drained.

Several other members had minor injuries on their arms, shoulders and ribs. None were life-threatening, but pushing into more fights like this would easily get them hurt worse.

TartKing handed one injured player a healing potion and pressed a small cake into his palm.

“Eat this.”

The guy had been grumbling in pain, but he instantly grinned. “Tart, if we were topside, I’d scarf three of these down in a row.”

“Nice try.” TartKing rolled her eyes. “This isn’t the snowfield. These are battle supplies now, not casual snacks.”

LoneSparrow quickly scurried over. “Tart, I’m injured too!”

TartKing shot him a glance. “Where exactly?”

LoneSparrow held out his hand, showing a tiny scrape that was almost fully scabbed over.

TartKing stared for a second, then tossed him a tiny candy. “Go on, scram.”

A few nearby players stifled quiet laughs.

Floor 15 was so close now.

Once they crossed through the portal and reached its central hall, they wouldn’t have to risk their lives fighting monsters around every tunnel and corner anymore.

“Only four words on my mind right now.” Felix leaned against the wall while checking his remaining explosives. “Safe zone, chill out.”

Bruce set his shield down and rubbed his stiff shoulders. “Before you chill, you better fix those busted fireworks of yours. Last thing we need is you blowing yourself up first.”

Felix hugged his bag tight. “It’s not unsafe! It’s resourceful! Saving supplies is a good habit, y’know?”

LoneWolf wandered by, his short blade freshly polished. He let out a faint sigh. “My only worry is your ‘resourcefulness’ getting all of us killed.”

Felix had no comeback for that.

More quiet laughter broke out around them.

Chapter 586 Within Reach of Safety

Once the lighthearted mood faded, everyone’s eyes drifted to the portal at the far end of the hall.

It looked just like all the previous ones-plain pale white light framed by old stone carvings. But to the exhausted team, it felt like the final door leading them to safety.

“Six people got injured on Floor 14. Two still can’t move freely. Tart’s heals got them back on their feet but they can’t handle long, intense sprints. We used 12 high-grade healing potions and 31 mid-grade ones. We have 11 defenseantidote scrolls left. Felix’s keeping track of all leftover explosive gear.

“Most of the damage is on the frontline’s shields and arm guards. The NPC blacksmith charges way too much, so we only fixed the critical parts. It’ll hold up long enough for one more floor.”

Riley nodded. “As long as it lasts till we reach the central hall on Floor 15, it’s fine. I’ll fully repair everyone’s gear once we’re back.”

RedBean looked up at her. “Should we rest here another day?”

Riley didn’t answer right away.

The central hall was safe, and they still had plenty of time left on the dungeon timer. They definitely could afford to rest longer.

But Floor 15’s central hall was the one true safe zone they could count on.

The more time they wasted, the higher the Black Fog climbed, and the more other survivors would flood into the upper floors. No one knew what state Floor 15’s central hall would be in by then.

On top of that, their snowfield camp was still under constant monster siege.

Riley could still vividly remember the last thing she saw before being forcefully teleported into the dungeon-hordes of monsters surrounding the fences, and the scared looks on the camp residents’ faces,

She needed to get back alive, and she needed to get her team settled and stable as soon as possible.

“No,” Riley said firmly. “We move out as soon as the wounded recover enough. The central hall on Floor 15 is our real target. We can’t burn through all our time halfway.”

Hanna turned around at once to get the team organized.

The previously scattered, relaxed team quickly fell into proper formation.

Pineapple Beer stood beside Riley, twirling her new dagger between her fingers. She seemed calmer than everyone else, but her brows stayed furrowed the whole time.

Riley noticed her tense expression. “You remembering something?”
