breath.

“Do these things stab right through your shoes?”

Riley glanced at the sharp tips of the spikes.

“They could pierce straight through you.”

TartKing immediately pulled her feet farther back.

A second danger popped up next. The path on the map stayed the same, but two Starlight Armor Figures spawned in the distance on the stone floor.

Riley was just about to take a detour when Pineapple Beer held up a hand.

“Wait.”

The tiny light dots on the map representing the Starlight Armor Figures were moving.

Thirty seconds later, the two Starlight Armor Figures shifted along the silver star tracks and moved completely out of their path.

TartKing lowered her voice. “Wait, does this detailed map actually show enemies now?”

“Only node spawns,” Pineapple Beer replied. “Not every monster.”

Riley nodded.

From then on, they ignored all the floating light chests lining the path.

One chest hovered just over ten yards away, covered only by a thin layer of silver light, looking super easy to grab. TartKing stared at it for a couple seconds before forcing herself to look

away.

Riley didn’t tease her for it.

In a place like this, anything that looked like a free gift was almost always a trap.

The glowing dots hanging overhead, once close enough to almost touch, slowly spread apart. In the far distance, a low arched outline came into view. Faint light glowed behind it–not the warm, soft glow of the previous floor halls, but a harsh white light condensed from countless star tracks.

The circular marker on their map grew brighter and brighter.

Spotting the label, TartKing finally let out a long sigh of relief.

“We’re finally here.”

Riley didn’t let her guard down one bit.

The closer they got to the hall, the more frequently the ground’s star tracks shifted and rearranged themselves.

The detailed map refreshed every few seconds. PineappleBeer kept her eyes locked on the map, TartKing watched their every step, and Riley scouted the path ahead. The three of them moved in tight sync, no extra words needed.

At the final stretch, three narrow silver bridges stretched out before them.

The bridges hovered over deep cracks in the black stone platform. There was no water or lava down below, only slowly swirling starlight.

The map showed all three bridges led to the central hall.

But two of them had faint red warning markers floating beside them.

Riley picked the middle bridge.

Halfway across, a section of the left bridge suddenly crumbled apart, and sharp star spikes shot from the crack below. Meanwhile, a headless Starlight Armor Figure materialized on the right bridge. It stood there for barely two seconds before getting swept away by another track shift.

TartKing’s back prickled with cold sweat.

“Thank god we didn’t take either of those.”

Pineapple Beer’s gaze stayed fixed on the map.

“We need to hurry across this middle one too.”

The three crossed the silver bridge safely and stepped onto the platform right before the arched hall structure.

A glowing light barrier blocked the end of the platform, with the faint silhouette of the hall visible behind it.

There were no item stalls, no rest inns, and none of the bustling NPC chatter they’d heard in the Floor 15 transit town. This hall was dead quiet, almost empty. A tall, black–and–silver portal stood right in the center, radiating brighter light from within.

TartKing tightened her grip on her greatsword as she stood before the barrier.

“This is the Floor 19 central hall?”

Riley pulled out the map.

The circular glowing marker perfectly aligned with their current position.

A new line of text slowly surfaced at the edge of the map.

[Floor 20 Entrance: Unlocked.]

Riley put the map away and stared straight at the portal.

They’d reached the end of Floor 19.

One more step, and they’d enter Floor 20.

The light barrier didn’t block their path at all.
