Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1767

Ms. Xu walked over. “Henry, what’s up?”

“Henry doesn’t get it again,” he replied, all innocent and sweet.

Today, he wouldn’t even get close to that other boy, just in case the little guy thought he was picking on him and started bawling again.

Mia noticed that a single phone call from the teacher had given her son a sudden burst of academic enthusiasm.

“Come on, Mom, teach me!” Henry begged early on Saturday, still in his pajamas, whispering right in her ear.

He had no clue what kind of night his mom had just survived.

Mia pulled the blanket over her head. Henry tried to snuggle closer, his arm pressing on the edge of the bed. “Mom~”

Mia rolled over. “Go ask your dad.”

“But I want you to teach me.” No way he was going to ask his dad—his father’s answer to everything was a lecture or, worse, a smack. Mom was way safer.

Mia gripped the covers tight, making sure Henry couldn’t get even a fingerhold to yank them away.

Sure enough, Henry gave it a tug, but when nothing happened, he just stood at the side of the bed and yelled at the top of his lungs, “MOM!!!!”

Downstairs, Andre heard every word.

He stopped, glanced at the ceiling, then headed upstairs.

A minute later, Henry was being carried out by his dad—lifted one-handed, like he weighed nothing at all. How come Mom and Grandpa always said he was too heavy, but Dad could still pick him up like a backpack?

Andre: “To the study. Now.”

Mia was jolted awake by her husband’s lion roar. She sat up, stunned for a few seconds, then dragged herself out of bed to wash up.

By lunchtime, Jade had dropped by for a visit.

As soon as Wayne got home, he called out, “Bro!”

He found his brother in Uncle Andre’s study, hard at work. Andre looked up and smiled. “Sweetie, you’re back.”
