Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1886

"Cooper, you need to come back! Your sister is bullying the sweetie again."

As soon as he said that, Mia pinched her son's cheeks and rubbed them. "You little brat, put your hand over your conscience and say that again?"

The little boy pouted, grabbing the hand Mia was using to pinch him. In his softest, sweetest whisper, he said, "Mommy, don't be mad. I'm just tricking Cooper into coming home."

Mia was stunned.

Cooper fell silent.

Then, the little boy spoke up again in his soft, sweet voice, "Mommy, I'm not a little brat, I'm a tiger cub! You never remember. When I was little, you even called me your sweetie."

Mia was completely speechless against her son's logic. "Fine, keep tricking your uncle. I'm... I'm going to go scrub your dad's back."

"But Daddy already took a shower."

"Then where is your dad?"

"Silly Mommy, Daddy went to his study."

Mia immediately went to her husband to tattle. Their little boy was becoming way too smart for his own good.

Henry continued talking to his uncle. "Cooper, hurry up and come back! The sweetie is getting beaten up at home again."

Cooper had heard everything clearly, but his immense love for his nephew made him play along with the act. "How are you getting beaten up?"

"Your sister pinches the sweetie's cheeks, your brother-in-law pinches his ears, and they pick him up by his clothes!"

Cooper smirked. "But Uncle just heard that you were trying to trick me into coming home. Is that true?"

The little boy flashed a triumphant smile. Oh, so his uncle knew!

Annie shook her head. "Did he tell you?"

Mia shook her head too. "I forgot to ask."

Milka walked over carrying her goddaughter. "What are you guys whispering about?" She brought Lizzy closer so they could listen together.

The three women huddled closely, murmuring in low voices.

The tiny star of the party blinked her big eyes. What were her mom and godmothers talking about? "Aooo~" She let out a shocked baby noise, having absolutely no idea what was going on.

Asher yelled out to the three women, "Hey, what are you three gossiping about? Pull my girl into the circle. It's her first time out, and she's a bit shy. You're all going to be family, so get along and don't bully her."

The three women stared at the woman radiating an aura of lethal coldness. Mia was the cute, soft type; Annie used to be an aloof police officer, though she married a violent romantic; Milka was a quiet, gentle girl-next-door type. None of them exuded an ounce of killer instinct. But the woman Asher had dragged along sat there looking so dangerous that even someone as bold as Mia hesitated to get too close.

Still, as the host, Annie stepped forward and broke the ice. "Asher, aren't you going to introduce us? How are we supposed to get to know each other?"
