Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 1964

Ten minutes later, Mia was sitting at the dining table too. She had slept wonderfully the night before. "Good morning, sweetie. Mommy and Daddy didn't tuck you in last night. Did you sleep well?"

Henry sniffled and nodded. "But Mommy, I didn't have a good morning!"

"Did your dad hit you?"

"I did," Andre answered. "But that didn't wake him up, so I carried him to the bathroom and gave him a shower."

The little guy pouted, his lip quivering with injustice. He hadn't slept enough. "Daddy washed my face with cold water!" Henry pointed to his soft, fair cheeks, complaining to his mother. "He didn't even put lotion on me. I'm all rough now!"

Andre slammed his silverware down in frustration. "Henry, you are a man."

"I'm a baby!" the kid yelled back at his dad.

It looked like the father and son were about to start brawling. Mia quickly intervened. "Alright, honey, stop. You don't remember because you were drunk, but your son took your stinky socks off for you last night. He even ran downstairs to get you water and took care of you. Stop yelling at our little dramatic baby."

She turned to her son. "It's nice enough that your dad washed your face. Why didn't you put your own lotion on?"

"But Daddy gave me a shower too!"

Mia rubbed her son's head. "That's good too. You and your dad both went to sleep without showering last night, so you just got it out of the way this morning."

Stuck in the middle, Mia finally managed to smooth over the morning tension between the two.

As they ate, Henry gnawed on a breakfast sandwich. Suddenly remembering something, he looked up and asked, "Daddy?"
