Aria’s POV

I’ll do it for my Lady.” Torvi said urgently. “No need to dirty her hands-”

This is her enemy. And she doesn’t have the guts to take revenge herself? Are you sure Frostpine blood runs in her veins?” Alpha Vladimir said with a mocking tone.

The stares from the crowd grew more intense. A few people snickered. I unclenched my fists, then clenched them again.

Torvi was about to yell back angrily, but I stopped her.

“Thank you. Alpha Vladimir,” I said, trying to keep my voice steady and not let it shake. “I really like this gift.”

Then I stepped forward and stood in front of the kneeling man.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Alpha Vladimir frown. He watched me closely, his expression strange, as though he didn’t believe I would really do it.

I took a deep breath and looked down at the man trembling before me. “Any last words?” I asked him.

His eyes widened with pure terror. He stammered, sobbing, “Pl–please… Lady Aria… I really didn’t mean to…. If I’d known you were a Lady, I never would’ve…”

“Wrong. You shouldn’t have done it because I’m a Lady. You shouldn’t do that to any woman–commoner girls included,” I told him.

I placed my hands on his neck, feeling his frantic pulse, forcing myself to memorize his bloody, terrified face.

“No! No! I was wrong, please! PLEAS―”

I gripped his head and twisted hard.

With a sharp sound, his neck broke. He collapsed to the ground, ɖead.

There was a ringing silence. I took a moment to calm my racing heart, then looked around at the crowd.

Shock.

And then, fear.

That’s right. Those Alphas and nobles were seriously staring at me in fear. It was like they were seeing the real me for the first time.

“Well done, Lady Aria!” Torvi suddenly exclaimed, breaking the silence.

She started clapping loudly. Following her lead, all the Frostpine Pack soldiers began applauding. Before, they’d protected me under Torvi’s order but never really looked at me seriously. Now, their faces were filled with excitement and admiration.

I took another deep breath. “You were right. We in Frostpine Pack never pass up a chance for revenge. Even if we can’t get it immediately, we bide our time. Thank you for reminding me, Alpha Vladimir.”

I stared straight at him. Anger flickered in his cold eyes before he said flatly, “You’re welcome, Lady Aria.”

Once we reached our private lounge, Torvi immediately said to me, excited, “That was perfect. I’m sure if anyone back in

I grabbed her arm to stop her, struggling to say, “No… no, I’m alright. Don’t let anyone know I threw up.”

Torvi immediately dismissed the other soldiers and maids. Then she held my hand and asked in a whisper, “Are you scared my lady?”

I hesitated, silent. She reassured me, “It’s okay. You can tell me.”

“Not scared… more like sickened,” I admitted.

I could still vividly feel the man’s neck bones snapping in my hands. I saw the life fade from his eyes. In that moment, I was acutely aware that a life had ended by my hand.

“It made me feel like… I’m not the same person I was before.” I said.

Half an hour later, flight crew notified us we could board. Surrounded by soldiers and attendants, I boarded the plane. It’s a private jet, with just me as the passenger.

As the plane took off, I looked out the window. Spike Hill Pack grew smaller below. The plane carried me through the clouds toward another unknown fate.

I thought I’d be too tense to sleep. But the restless night had exhausted me, and I finally dozed off in my seat.

In a haze, I suddenly heard someone calling my name.

“The Alpha is waiting for you at the pack house, and here you are, sleeping. Clearly, you don’t care much about the Alpha,” Cole said shrilly.

I stared at her, narrowing my eyes slightly.

I hadn’t even gotten off the plane yet, and the haters were already here.

Clearly, a lot of people here didn’t want me back.
