Chapter 73
Chapter 73
Third Person POV
“Just tell me!” Delilah said urgently. “I told you I’ll do anything to save you, babe.”
Jace tightened his grip on her hand, locking eyes with her.
“The only way to save me… is to kill your brother.”
For a long moment, everything went completely silent.
Delilah’s face drained of color. She suddenly jerked back, trying to snatch her hand away, but Jace held on tightly.
“K–Kill my brother? Are you out of your damn mind, Jace?!” she whispered sharply, fear flashing in her eyes.
“You just said you’d do anything to save me. Well, this is it!” he said urgently.
“No…NO! This is different!” she snapped in disbelief. “I know you two have your issues, but he’s still my brother for fuck’s sake! He practically raised me, Jace. More than our parents ever did. I… I can’t do this to him.”
“This isn’t about issues anymore,” Jace growled. “He tried to fucking kill me, Delilah! That man has no heart.”
Delilah kept shaking her head, her expression twisted in pain. “No… He didn’t mean to kill you. I mean… you’re still alive, aren’t you?”
“Oh, and expelling me, turning me into a street wolf–that’s any better?” Jace snapped. “He was going to chop off my claws, Delilah. Do you even understand what that means? No hands, no legal status. I’d have to beg in the streets like a dog. That’s what he wanted you know? To watch me suffer. And that’s worse than death.”
His handsome face twisted with hatred, his eyes cold and venomous,
“I know you’ve got a soft heart babe. But think about it. As long as he’s alive, you’ll always live in his shadow. Every decision you make will go through him. If he wants to split us apart, he can–and he already has. Aren’t you sick of that?”
Delilah’s chest heaved as she struggled to breathe.
She wanted to argue, to deny it. But no words came.
Because Jace wasn’t wrong.
She had grown up under Grayson’s shadow.
Her education, her teenage boyfriends, her marriage–he always had the final say. He controlled her more than their parents ever did. And sure, he was usually right, but that didn’t make it easier. Who wouldn’t want a little freedom for once?
Jace could see the internal war waging behind her eyes, and his voice turned softer, more tempting.
“And come on. Isn’t he a total hypocrite? He says I’m not good enough to marry you, yet he’s out there dating Aria? Aria! How is she any
better?”
“Right… Aria,” Delilah muttered, her breathing quickening. “She’s worse. She’d spread her legs for any guy who’d have her. An utter tramp.
And he’s still with her…”
“Exactly. And that’s Grayson. Cold, ruthless, even to his own family. He’s a tyrant, Delilah. There’s no other way but to end it, once and for all.”

Chapter 73
Jace reached through the bars, gently brushing away the tears on Delilair’s cheek.
“And have you thought about this? Once Grayson’s gone…YOU will become Alpha of Red Stone Pack”
Delilah froze. “Me? Alpha?!”
“Of course.”
Jace’s voice turned low and sweet, like whispering a dream into her ear.
“You’ll be the only heir left. Who else would lead Red Stone? And everyone here loves you. After Grayson’s gone, they’ll welcome you as their new Alpha right away–”
“But you saw the news,” Delilah cut in, panic rising in her voice. “They all said we’ve made a mess of things while Grayson’s away. They want us gone.”
“Oh please. What the hell do those idiot reporters know?” Jace said dismissively. “You and I both know you’ve got a great vision for this pack. And the only thing holding you back was him. Once he’s out of the way, you’ll finally be free to lead.”
Delilah’s breathing turned shallow and fast, torn and uncertain.
Jace cupped her face în his hands, locking eyes with her.
“So tell me, babe… if doing this means you save me and make your dreams come true. It’s a win–win, right? Let’s get rid of the only obstacle in our way.”
There was a long, heavy silence.
Even the Carters behind Jace were holding their breath, watching Delilah nervously.
“No…”
“What did you say?!” Jace’s face twisted with shock.
Delilah lifted her tear–stained face. “You–you’re not wrong about another way to save you-”
any of it. But…he’s still my brother. I can’t… I just can’t do it. If there’s
“You stupid bitch!” Jace’s mother lunged forward, shouting through the bars. “As long as your brother lives, there is no other way! Everyone in this goddamn place listens to his fucking orders. Are you that blind?!”
Delilah flinched and backed away. “I know… I’m sorry… but Jace, even if you become a street wolf, I’ll still love you. I’ll never give up on you.”
Jace’s face went pale. His mother screamed, “Fuck out. Get the hell out of here! Who needs your stupid love? My son deserves a life of power and wealth, and you fucking ruined it! I should’ve known you were a disaster from the start!”
Delilah sobbed as she stumbled to her feet, ready to run.
“WAIT!”
Jace suddenly roared.
He reached into his shirt, frantically pulling out a folded paper and shoving it toward her through the bars.
“Even if you won’t do it for me… at least do it for our child!”
Delilah froze mid–step.

Chapter 73
She turned back in shock. “W what… child?”
Jace took a deep breath. “I wasn’t planning to tell you like this… but remember the check–up you did last month? The doctor found out you’re pregnant…You’re two months along.”
Delilah’s jaw dropped. So did Jace’s parents.
Slowly, her hand moved to rest on her lower belly, disbelief written all over her face.
“But… but why didn’t the doctor tell me?”
“I asked them to keep it a secret. I wanted to surprise you at my birthday party,” Jace said bitterly. “But before I got the chance, Grayson fucking ruined everything.”
Delilah clapped her hand over her mouth. Tears burst from her eyes again. “A baby… our baby…”
“Yes. OUR BABY.”
Jace’s voice was firm, intense.
He clung to the bars, staring into her soul. “Can you imagine how happy we would’ve been if none of his had happened? Just the three of us, together. But now I’m going to lose my hands. I won’t even be able to hold my own child.”
“No…” Delilah sobbed.
“You want the father of your baby to be a street wolf? Is that what you want for our child?!”
“NO!!!” she cried, collapsing to her knees.
baby.” “Then this is your only chance!” Jace shouted, gripping the bars tighter. “Please… do it for our
Delilah covered her face, shoulders shaking with silent cries.
After a long, suffocating pause, she whispered so softly it barely be heard:
“…What do you need me to do?”
The Carters exchanged an excited look. Jace’s eyes lit up instantly. “That’s it, baby. You made the right choice.”
She looked up, her eyes red and puffy, her voice hoarse. “But my brother… he’s the strongest Alpha alive. No one’s been able to hurt him since he came of age.”
“Even the strongest Alpha lets his guard down sometimes,” Jace said with confidence. “Don’t worry–I’ve already got a plan.”
He leaned in, his voice low and fast. “All you have to do… is lure him out of that mansion full of guards and soldiers. Take him somewhere remote, somewhere no one else will be. Make sure he’s alone.”
Delilah clenched her fists. “And then?”
“Once he’s out, I need you to get me out of this prison. And find me a weapon.”
“You’re going to attack him yourself?” she gasped. “No–no, that’s too dangerous. Even if he’s alone-‘
“I told you–I’ve got a plan,” Jace said, grabbing her hand through the bars. “And I’ll have help. So don’t worry. Just follow my instructions,
and we’ll make it.”

Delilah bit her lip.
Her eyes were still full of pain, but her voice was steady.
“I’m ready… Tell me what to do,” she said.

when can we expect more chapters?...
Yay chapter 210 🙌🏻 I hope the next few chapters come quicker 🙏 even one a week would be great. I’m just imagining the conversation Aria will have to have with Grayson. Like to be honest there is so many reasons not to even think about marrying Grayson. * She wasn’t good enough before but due to this unexpected twist of fate she is all of a sudden good enough. * The obvious betrayal. She gave him her whole heart & soul. He didn’t just break her heart but shattered it. * She asked if he believed her about Isla & he said it didn’t matter. Ummm excuse me it 100% matters. If he doesn’t believe her then there is no trust or faith in her. *He said that he didn’t want to get married or have children but all of a sudden he does?? She would have to make sure that he actually wants to marry her & have children. Not just because he might lose her. She wouldn’t want his to resent her later because he got pushed into a corner. Plus he did say he would Especially not marry Aria. *Grayson is not an ally yet & doesn’t have Alpha Thalira’s favour. Eren would be a good match. They could learn to love each other & he is willing to fully support her as an Alpha (if she becomes Alpha) Even Zane would be a great Match. He genuinely loves her & would 100% support her & make her happy. I think Grayson has a lot of deep reflection to do, realise his true feelings & convey them to Aria. I think he might have to take a more submissive approach to be with Aria. God so much to consider & I’m super excited to get the next few chapters to see who her suitors are...
