Chapter 90
Chapter 90
Aria’s POV
59%
That evening, Delilah and I had dinner before heading our separate ways.
I heard she still lived in the apartment she bought with Jace for their wedding. It was hard to imagine how that must make her feel now.
And I could sense she wanted to come back to Grayson’s mansion with me, but didn’t dare because she was afraid that her brother hadn’t forgiven her yet.
I did intend to help patch things up between them. But I also planned to do it slowly. Because I also needed her help dealing with Isla.
Hope this little cooperation between me and her will work.
When I got back to the mansion, Grayson was already home.
I found him sitting alone in the study, rubbing his temples.
“Hey, everything okay? You look exhausted.”
I walked over and he automatically opened his arms, letting me settle onto his lap while he wrapped his arms around my waist.
“Just seeing you makes me feel better.” He buried his face in my neck, taking a deep breath. This was his unique way of relaxing. “Tell me. How was your day? You met the Lunas already?”
“It started off kind of tense, but ended well.”
I paused, hesitating, and then still decided to tell him about Isla anyway.
“Actually, you know what? Your dear Isla did something totally uncool today.”
“She’s not MY Isla,” he frowned. “What did she do?”
“She somehow found out about that I was throwing a party for the Lunas and held her own competing event in the same building. And at the
exact same time!”
I watched his expression darken further.
“Maybe it was just coincidence,” he said.
“How could it be a coincidence? She went around telling everyone how special your connection is. And she made everyone think she’s still the lady of the house. Those Lunas wouldn’t even look at me at first–they all became Isla’s minions.”
He sighed, looking exasperated. “You really have a prejudice against her. I wonder where that comes from?”
I was furious. Prejudice? Were men really this blind? Couldn’t he see Isla was deliberately targeting me?
“I told you she sabotaged my party just to undermine me, and you still think it’s prejudice? Even Delilah agreed at the end of the day that-”
“Wait.” He cut me off, expression turning serious. “Delilah was there today?”
“Yeah. Honestly, if not for her, I would’ve been totally humiliated by Isla.”
“I explicitly forbade her from contacting you,” he snapped. “Have you forgotten what she did? She’s dangerous, Aria. You’d still be well and

healthy if it weren’t for her. Seriously, I don’t want you anywhere near her ever again.”
“She was just under Jace’s influence! The real danger here is isla. If you want to ban anyone from seeing me, it should be your precious ex- wife.” I said angrily.
“Enough. We’re not arguing about this,” he warned.
“Fine by me.”
I struggled to get off his lap and storm out.
But he tightened his arms, holding me firmly in place.
“Stay.” He demanded.
His voice was rough and dark. I could smell the turbulent emotions in his scent. He wasn’t in a good state.
I stopped resisting. “What happened? Did you have a day?”
“Everything else was manageable. It’s just…” He paused, voice grim. “The White River Pack Alpha still hasn’t confirmed if he’ll attend tomorrow.”
For a moment, I wanted to make a sharp comment like “I thought your dear Isla guaranteed he’d come.”
But in the end I swallowed the words.
He looked exhausted enough without me adding to it.
“You’re worried about me?” I asked softly.
He took a deep breath, then cradled my face like I was something precious and fragile. “Of course I am. Every second is fucking torture for me now. I know you’re getting worse and there’s nothing I can do about it…”
“Hey, I’m fine right now. Look, still breathing and everything.”
But his expression remained stormy. “If he’s determined to ignore my invitation, he’s determined to make an enemy of me. I’ll fucking start a war. A war that my father never finished. Maybe violence is the only language those arrogant bastards understand.”
A chill was sent down my spine.
God, a war?
And it would essentially be because of me. That was terrifying!
“You’re not serious.” I straightened, frowning.
He gave a dark chuckle. The dangerous edge in his scent intensified. I could feel his wolf’s agitation, like it was losing control, craving blood
and violence…
Clearly, he meant every word right now.
“No, Grayson, listen to me!” I grabbed his shoulders, staring at him intently. “Your father made a huge mistake invading White River Pack years ago. You’ve said so yourself! So don’t repeat his mistakes. Don’t let your emotions control you. Nothing good will come of this.”
His breathing was rough and uneven. “But if he refuses to help you-”

“Then we find another way. There has to be another way.” I said firmly.
No way would I become the cause of a war
Otherwise I’d never sleep peacefully ever again.
He exhaled heavily and pulled me close again. I wrapped my arms around his neck, releasing my scent to calm him down.
“Let’s just see what happens at tomorrow’s summit,” he muttered.
I nodded silently.
A sense of foreboding was rising in my chest.
I had this feeling–tomorrow’s medical summit wouldn’t go smoothly as we wanted it to be.

when can we expect more chapters?...
Yay chapter 210 🙌🏻 I hope the next few chapters come quicker 🙏 even one a week would be great. I’m just imagining the conversation Aria will have to have with Grayson. Like to be honest there is so many reasons not to even think about marrying Grayson. * She wasn’t good enough before but due to this unexpected twist of fate she is all of a sudden good enough. * The obvious betrayal. She gave him her whole heart & soul. He didn’t just break her heart but shattered it. * She asked if he believed her about Isla & he said it didn’t matter. Ummm excuse me it 100% matters. If he doesn’t believe her then there is no trust or faith in her. *He said that he didn’t want to get married or have children but all of a sudden he does?? She would have to make sure that he actually wants to marry her & have children. Not just because he might lose her. She wouldn’t want his to resent her later because he got pushed into a corner. Plus he did say he would Especially not marry Aria. *Grayson is not an ally yet & doesn’t have Alpha Thalira’s favour. Eren would be a good match. They could learn to love each other & he is willing to fully support her as an Alpha (if she becomes Alpha) Even Zane would be a great Match. He genuinely loves her & would 100% support her & make her happy. I think Grayson has a lot of deep reflection to do, realise his true feelings & convey them to Aria. I think he might have to take a more submissive approach to be with Aria. God so much to consider & I’m super excited to get the next few chapters to see who her suitors are...
I’m hoping that you have taken so long for new chapters because you are going to release a few at a time. Can you at least tell us when we should expect a new chapter or a few? Loving this story <3...
