She wasn’t sure how the man who led such a simple life with her and her mother managed to have ten million dollars stashed away

for her, but he did. Her parents taught her the value of a dollar and being in foster care made it even more important for her to not spend lavishly. She’d hidden her wealth from

everyone.

Not even Astra knew exactly how much her dad left her and as she considered it perhaps the reason, she’d never told her was because deep down she wasn’t as trusting of Astra as she believed herself to be. What kind of woman said she was in love with someone but then complained of being jealous of being second to her child? his father was associated with, and she lifted her chin with

resolve.

The question was, how could she do it? How could she find a way to get rid of the O’Reilly family once and for all? She thought of Kiefer and Tadgh and back to the foolish comments Tadgh made moments ago.

It wasn’t she’d never noticed him but from the very first time they’d met, he’d been aloof, cold, and downright rude to her. Despite his crap about being in love with her at first sight, she never once felt any kind of affection from him. All of his

blustering moments ago was another way he was torturing and teasing her, surely?

mocked her. “What if he’d really wanted you to be his instead

of Kiefer’s?”
