Chapter 113 Deep Satisfaction
At worst, Noah would just toss a stack of cash for her medical bills. Total pocket change.
Isabella stared back, “Well, look at you mapping out the entire legal defense.”
The boy wasn’t a total blockhead after all; his tactical foresight was solid.
Noah grinned, “D*mn straight. You think I threw hands on a random whim? I thrashed her because she deserved to take the hit. She trash-talked you, so it’s pure karma!”
He let out a short huff, “If I hadn’t handled her right then and there and waited to jump her later, I would’ve handed her a perfect excuse to play the victim to Dad.
“She would’ve whined that I was picking on her out of nowhere, and I wouldn’t have a solid defense.”
“So dropping her on the spot was the absolute solitary option.
“And it had to be brutal!
“Otherwise, she’s gonna pull the exact same stunt next time.”
Noah’s expression darkened, “This is the second time she’s tried to trash your name to my face. I’ve been holding back my patience for a minute now.
“This time, I used her little performance as the perfect excuse to unload.”
Noah utterly loathed snakes like Hannah who acted soft, helpless, and deeply caring on the surface while masking a black heart underneath.
If he hadn’t broken her spirit today, she would’ve taken the next chance to slander Isabella out in the open.
At the very least, after this beating, she would keep her mouth tightly shut.
“Can’t stand those toxic hypocrites,” he muttered under his breath.
A faint smile crossed Isabella’s face, “Well, thanks for looking out for me then.
“Good hustle, awesome job!”
Seeing that Noah hadn’t acted on pure, blind rage, Isabella dropped the lecture entirely.
After all, the boy had gone out of his way to clear her name.
Besides, what happened to Hannah was completely beneath her concern.
She had only intervened because she didn’t want Noah catching a massive charge over it.
Since his position was secure, she could care less.
As the words left her lips, a sudden spark hit Noah’s eyes.
This was the absolute first time he had ever seen Isabella offer him a real smile; previously, she was nothing but a cold front or a total blank.
So this was the premium treatment Brett and his brother always received?
If he knew a brawl was the key, he would’ve thrashed Hannah weeks ago.
“Ahem, no biggie.” Noah cleared his throat, stuffing his hands into his pockets as he stared at the ceiling, looking slightly self-conscious.
Man. She really doesn’t need to get all sentimental over a minor favor.
Unbelievable.
It was just a total no-brainer anyway.
Still, a deep sense of satisfaction settled comfortably into Noah’s chest.
He had been brought up exclusively by his father and big brother.
