“By ten tomorrow morning at the latest, all the paperwork will be ready,” he said, checking his watch. “I can bring the keys and the property documents to you first thing.”
“That won’t be necessary,” Isabella replied curtly. “Leave them at your office. I’ll come by to pick them up.”
She had no intention of disclosing where she lived, nor did she want to get too involved with him personally.
“I’ll add an extra percent to your commission for handling this. Also, I need you to arrange for security and other services.”

Isabella wasn’t interested in keeping the previous owner’s staff. While she did want help hiring new people, anyone brought on would have to pass her own screening.
“If you’re too busy, just refer someone reliable to me.
“Bottom line–I want to be able to move in and live there right away.”
She didn’t want to waste time dealing with minor details.
“Absolutely!” Ryan’s voice brightened with excitement, and he agreed without a second thought.
Oh my
God!
This young woman is unbelievably generous!
Incredible!
Now this was what a real high–level client looked like!
A seriously wealthy heiress–or maybe even the heir to a fortune!
So understated!
Unbelievably low–key!
With that kind of money, she’d managed to stay completely off the radar until now.
Good thing he’d had the sense to offer his card and his services earlier.
He was going to make bank! He was set!
While Ryan was practically dancing on the spot with glee, a nearby sales associate watched in confusion and asked, “Everything okay, sir?”
They’d never seen him start moving like that in the middle of a phone call!
Was this some kind of new habit?
Did he suddenly think he was a Broadway performer or something?

Are we supposed to start dancing mid–conversation now?!
“You guys have no idea.” Ryan shot them an amused look, then broke into a wide grin. “Keep working
hard!
“I’m heading out for a bit. If anyone asks for me, tell them I’m tied up.
“And I mean anyone–even if the mayor himself shows up!
“If this goes through, there’ll be bonuses for everyone when I get back!”
With that, he hurried out the door, steps light and almost bouncing with excitement.
He needed to get everything sorted for Isabella right away.
After ending the call, Isabella left the Wayne residence and returned to her apartment. As she walked in, she spotted Isaac inside.
The moment he saw her, he grew visibly tense and uneasy. “Isabella, you’re back. Here–I made you some soup. What do you think?”
As soon as Isaac had returned to the apartment, he’d asked Nora to teach him how to make a simple soup.
He remembered what Isabella had said back at the house–that no one ever remembered what she liked, and nobody paid attention to what she ate. So he was determined to make it up to her.
He’d been wrong before, completely blind to Isabella’s hurt and struggles.
He wasn’t going to be that person anymore.
So after getting back from Zachary’s club, he’d rushed to prepare something for Isabella.
He wanted her to know that even if Adrian and the others didn’t treat her well, she still had him.
Isabella’s expression remained cool as she glanced over. “You really don’t have to do this. Nora is here to handle things at home.“.
Her eyes drifted to the light burns on his fingers–small blisters from the heat,
It was obvious Isaac had no experience in the kitchen. The minute he tried cooking, he’d gotten burned.
“Oh, it’s nothing. I made you butternut squash soup. See if you like it.” He nudged the bowl gently toward her.
He’d overheard Nora mention some of Isabella’s preferences earlier, but those dishes were way too complicated for him.
Butternut squash soup was the only thing he could manage without completely messing up–and even then, he’d burned a few batches and nearly knocked over the pot a couple of times.
Isabella’s face stayed neutral. She didn’t speak right away.
