Chapter 168 The Dragonfly Gift
From then on, Brett was welcome to drop by the estate whenever he wanted.
His eyes lit up immediately.
Noah really was a stand–up guy–the security here was next level!
No wonder it felt so locked down… This was practically military–grade protection, wasn’t it?

Brett watched team after team of drones sweep across the sky, covering the property from every angle. If anyone tried to spy on the place, they’d be taken down in seconds.
So badass.
And so expensive.
He was seriously impressed.
His family, the Carters, were well–off by most standards, but he’d never seen security this tight before.
By the time Brett and Nora arrived, Isabella had already been notified. She politely wrapped up her conversation with Ryan and waited for them inside the villa.
When they walked in, she greeted them warmly. “Brett, Nora.”
Brett hurried over, excitement written all over his face/Whoa, Isabella, this place is incredible! It’s almost twice the size of our property!”
His eyes were wide as he took it all in.
Isabella chuckled. “If you like it, you’re welcome to come hang out anytime.”
She’d already entered Brett’s and the others‘ details into the security system. Nora and the staff would still need to go through clearance procedures, but Brett, Eugene, and the rest could come and go freely.
Her home would always be open to them.
“Heh, thanks–that’s really generous of you,” Brett said, rubbing the back of his neck. He didn’t want to overstep, especially since Isabella was technically staying in someone else’s house.
Well, if the place were actually hers, he wouldn’t feel so awkward about it.
But since it belonged to the Wayne family…
Better play it cool. He didn’t want to make things uncomfortable for Isabella or give the wrong impression.
“I’ll just swing by to see you often,” he said, trying to sound casual.
As long as Isabella was around, that was enough.

They’d wanted to invite Isabella to stay with them before, but Adrian had warned them not to put her in an awkward position.
Now that she was just a short drive away, they could see her whenever–she could even come for dinner. And if it ran late, she could just crash at their place and head back in the morning. No one would even know.
The thought made Brett practically giddy.
Isabella smiled. “Yeah, now I’ll be able to visit Arthur and Margaret more often.”
That was the whole reason she’d chosen a property in Crestview Heights in the first place.
It wasn’t like she couldn’t afford a place anywhere in Caporia–there were plenty of luxury estates outside this neighborhood.
