Chapter 176 Mall Confrontation

“Not a single word about this leaves the room until after the press conference is over,” Adrian stated flatly.
The security team nodded without hesitation.
They were getting paid well for this–plus meals and a place to stay. For them, it was more than a fair deal.
They knew Adrian was keeping them close, watching their every move, and putting them to work, but as long as the compensation was good, they couldn’t care less.
Without another word, they hauled Isaac out.
He fought the entire way, but it was useless–he was no match for their strength. Besides, security at Powell Group wasn’t just anyone off the street; they were trained.
Easily overpowering him, they locked him in one of the company’s storage rooms, a cluttered space used for miscellaneous supplies and sometimes experimental materials.
Isaac was shoved inside roughly.
Adrian’s expression remained icy. He didn’t give his brother another thought.
Anyone who stood in his way at Powell Group–even family—wouldn’t get off easy.
Locking Isaac up was just a temporary measure, a lesson to remind him that not everything was his business.
He had a comfortable life back at Powell Villa, yet he chose to defy Adrian. Well, now he couldn’t complain if Adrian wasn’t acting much like a brother.
While Isaac was stuck in that storage room, Isabella happened to run into Hannah later that same afternoon, while browsing in an upscale mall.
“Isabella!”
Hannah’s eyes lit up with a mix of surprise and envy when she spotted her. She was there with a few new friends–these days, she couldn’t just swipe without thinking. Now she hesitated over every purchase, often walking away empty–handed.
Whenever someone asked, she’d force a smile and claim her taste had changed, that she wasn’t into “that kind of thing” anymore.
Back in the day, she’d never have said that. If she liked something, she bought it.
And not long ago, all the new arrivals from luxury boutiques would be sent straight to Powell Villa for her to pick through.

She wanted Isabella browsing alone at a high–end jewelry counter, examining a display of necklaces.
Hannah walked over, a sweet but tight smile on her face.
“Oh, Isabella… looking at jewelry?” she began, her tone deceptively light. Thate to say it, but… well, didn’t you get cut off from the family? Where would you even get the money for something like this?”
She paused, pretending to catch herself, and brought a hand to her mouth in feigned innocence.
“Oops, was that too blunt? I just mean… if you can’t afford it, you really shouldn’t touch anything here. These pieces are incredibly expensive. Like… more than you’d make in years expensive.”
She smiled sweetly again, tilting her head.
