A Superpowered Warrior in a Fake Heiress’s Body
Chapter 180 The Fake Code Plot
By reviewing footage from the hallways and other sections of the building, Isabella managed to reconstruct the events.
It turned out Isaac had discovered Adrian’s plan to fundraise using the unfinished Neural–Network Interface System.
Isaac’s moral standards were clearly higher than Adrian’s.
Isabella’s brow furrowed slightly as she watched.

She saw Isaac in the storage room–head in his hands, crying one moment, swearing under his breath the next, then pounding on the door and shouting for someone to let him out, demanding to see Adrian. She
ethim couldn’t help but sigh.
Really… what an idiot.
Her expression remained detached. Without delay, she hacked into Powell Group’s security system and addressed him through the storage room camera. “Isaac?”
Isabella had altered her voice.
All Isaac heard was a staticky, mechanized tone.
He jerked his head toward the camera. “Who’s there?
“Who’s talking to me?”
His eyes scanned the room before fixing on the lens.
Isabella kept her tone even. “How about we make a deal?”

Over at Powell Group, Adrian and Marcus had just received word from Carter Group–they weren’t canceling their end–of–month launch. In fact, they’d scheduled it for the same day as Powell’s.
Not only that, Carter Group had issued a press release claiming a major breakthrough in the Neural- Network Interface System, calling it a century–defining innovation that was years ahead of any existing technology.
When Adrian saw the news, he let out a dismissive laugh.
“What’s your take, Mr. Powell?”
Marcus spoke calmly, his eyes on Adrian. “Seems your plan is working like clockwork. Carter Group is determined to go toe–to–toe with us.
“But I have to wonder–what makes them confident enough to put out a statement like that?”
He pointed at the phrase century–defining innovation.

Adrian snorted.
“You actually think Carter Group has that kind of capability?” he said coldly.
“A century–defining invention? Anybody can throw around big words.
“Hell, doesn’t Bexley Group oversell their projects too?
“In this industry, everyone talks a bigger game than Carter. Does that mean anything?“.
Marcus‘ gaze sharpened almost imperceptibly.
“Carter Group doesn’t make claims they can’t back up,” he remarked quietly.
It was true. Carter Group had a reputation for staying grounded.
Ever since Eugene took the helm, the company’s culture had shifted toward substance over hype.
Back when Arthur was in charge, they’d occasionally lean into marketing fluff.
But under Eugene, if Carter Group announced something, they delivered.
That was exactly why Marcus had come to Adrian as soon as the news broke.
Adrian’s voice turned frosty. “So you’re seriously suggesting Carter Group can pull this off?
“We haven’t even solved the core issues with the Neural–Network Interface System after more than a decade of R&D, and you think Carter Group could leapfrog us by years–and succeed in a matter of months?
“Are you joking, or just dreaming?”
He didn’t like where Marcus was going with this.
What did Carter Group doesn’t make empty claims even imply?
That Powell Group was all talk and no follow–through?
“Let’s not forget who originated this strategy,” Adrian snapped.
“Are you saying Carter Group is about to wipe the floor with us? That they’ve made a breakthrough where we’ve hit walls for over ten years—and not just any breakthrough, but one that leaves us in the dust?
“If you really believe that, maybe Bexley Group should walk away now.”
His tone was biting.
