Chapter 197 Exam Day Surprise
Manfred
A game-changing breakthrough that would redefine its era and leave a lasting mark on history?
Every word of that description might as well have been written specifically for the G-series Neural-Network Interface System.
No one could have guessed that the promotional pieces Adrian had circulated weren’t just hype -they were entirely accurate.
And the reason it was spreading like wildfire was because Eugene had been quietly fanning the flames.
Edward and his associates were bound to short Carter Group early on, and that was precisely when Eugene planned to strike.
A sharp, icy gleam flashed in Eugene’s eyes.
Business was war. If Edward tried to dig information out of him, he shouldn’t be surprised when Eugene turned the tables.
Eugene took his time, calm and deliberate.
That night, when Isabella returned to her villa and opened her laptop, she found the financial markets in turmoil.
“Why is everyone jumping between shorting and going long all over the place?” she muttered, noticing how hidden funds were weaving in and out from every direction, crossing paths in a chaotic dance.
What was going on?
Was this some kind of financial game?
Why was Hanks Group getting involved now?
And since when did Eugene jump into the fray?
Isabella quietly organized her own funds while keeping an eye on the frantic movements of those behind-the-scenes assets.

The next morning, Isabella arrived at school to find Hannah looking her way with a smug, excited glint in her eyes.

“You’ve been studying with the Waynes for a while now,” Hannah said quietly, a sly smile playing on her lips. “Midterms shouldn’t be a problem for you, right?
“I really hope you score high!”
That way, her plan would fall perfectly into place.
There was a twisted, almost giddy shine in Hannah’s expression.
Isabella’s face remained neutral. She glanced over coolly and replied, “We’ll see.”
Then she turned and walked away.
Once she was gone, Hannah stomped her foot in frustration before reluctantly heading into the exam hall.
Isabella wouldn’t be smug for long.
This time, she’d make sure both Isabella and Noah crashed and burned.
They were both going to fail these midterms-spectacularly.
Just as Hannah was thinking that, Noah walked into the same exam hall as Isabella.
The two of them were at the very bottom of the class rankings: Isabella had no recorded grades at all, and Noah had a perfect zero.
Their seats were almost side-by-side, separated only by a narrow aisle.
At that moment, Noah was mumbling under his breath, hands clasped together like he was in prayer-though it wasn’t clear who he thought was listening.
“Could you aim a little higher?” Isabella said, sighing in exasperation as she plucked a small pendant from his hands-one that looked like a cross but had tiny symbols carved into it that definitely didn’t belong.
This was getting ridiculous.
Did this guy even realize that mixing symbols like that made no sense?
And he was asking for a blessing to pass by just a few points?
Honestly…
If it were possible to get a negative score, his transcript would be torn up so badly that not even the darkest corner of the internet would want it.

“Stop talking to the universe and start talking to yourself. Instead of wasting time like this, take out the practice sheets I gave you and review the questions you got wrong.
“You’re not going to mess this up. You’re going to pass-I’m sure of it.”
Her tone left no room for doubt.
