Chapter 250 The Robot’s Triumph
From that day on, she was stepping into the role of leading Carter Group.
She offered a calm smile and a slight nod to those around her.
Many returned the gesture with genuine warmth in their expressions.
After all, whether Audrey had ever held real sway in the company before didn’t matter much now–just hi connection to Jeremy and her current collaboration with Powell Group were enough to earn their goodby and respect.
The crowd gradually cased into conversation, already looking ahead to future partnerships. Meanwhile, over at the Carter Group presentation, their demonstration was getting underway.
Carter Group started strong.
“Ladies and gentlemen, let us introduce you to the real Neural–Network Interface System–true brain- machine integration!”
A robot marked with the letter “G” on its chassis walked smoothly onto the stage.
Its movements were fluid, its voice carried clearly, and it held a presence that–if you didn’t look too closel
could almost pass for human.
Standing before the crowd, it spoke in Eugene’s voice, calm and conversational.
“You might be wondering… Carter Group’s product has only been in development for a few months. How can it possibly compete with Powell Group’s offering, let alone stand toe–to–toe with it?
“Well, here’s the answer–it all comes down to the tech.”
As the robot spoke, a series of alarms echoed through the hall, sounding both near and far.
All around, shouts rang out. “Fire! Help! Someone call 911!”
On stage, what looked like real flames began to climb upward.
A voiceover cut in, explaining, “These are professionally treated phosphorus–based compounds–they simulate temperatures of several hundred degrees but are completely harmless and non–spreading. Carter Group has extensive experience with controlled demo environments and has full fire–suppression systems and safety teams stationed around the perimeter.”
As the narration continued, the large screen displayed prepared fire–control setups and security personnel standing by.
Meanwhile, the flames on stage grew more intense, threatening to spill toward the edges.
Soine attendees in the front rows began shifting nervously in their seats.
Even knowing the fire wasn’t truly dangerous, the realism of the scene made it feel as though the blaze Could surge forward any moment and engulf them.

[What’s with all the theater, Carter Group?]
[A fire on stage–so what? Are they gonna put it out with their hands?]
[Seriously, is this a neural–interface demo or a fire–safety drill?}

[Well, if the tech isn’t there, you’ve gotta dazzle them with visuals.]
[Kinda embarrassing to pull this on an international stage, isn’t it?]
[This is just sad to watch.]
