Seeing Isabella drift off again, Noah thought about it for a second, then slumped over his own desk to take a nap too.
He had spent his entire school career sleeping through classes anyway, and none of the teachers ever dared to wake him.
Having a designated sleeping buddy actually wasn’t a bad deal.
The two of them managed to doze away the entire afternoon together.
By dusk, the final bell rang.
Isabella stood near the main gates of Westbrook Academy, waiting for her ride to pull up.
Hannah sidled up next to her, wearing a sweet, flawless smile as she cooed, “Isabella, I’m going to carpool back with you.
“My personal ride isn’t going to be ready anytime soon.”
Hannah had made Jacob beg Isaac for a second chance, promising he’d hustle back within three days, so Isaac agreed not to hire a permanent replacement just yet.
Isaac took into account that Jacob had been with the Powell family for years and had never caused a single issue before.
Because of that, he gave him a pass.
As a result, Hannah felt entirely entitled to demand a spot in Isabella’s car, her face bursting with smug confidence.
After all, they had arrived together that morning, and since Isaac wasn’t around to act as a shield, Isabella’s driver would obviously have to take her home too.
But just as Hannah stepped forward with a grin to open the passenger door, Isabella grabbed her arm and violently yanked her back.
“I believe I made myself perfectly clear this morning–no means no.”
Isabella’s eyes were sharp as broken glass.
Slipping into the backseat, she locked the doors from the inside and said flatly. “If you want a ride home, call Isaac and have him pick your ass up.”
“Drive.”

Isabella ordered coldly.
Catching her icy glare in the rearview mirror, the chauffeur shivered and slammed his foot on the gas.
He had received strict orders earlier that morning to obey Isabella’s every command.
Since he was exclusively Isabella’s personal driver, even if he left Miss Hannah stranded, he would probably be fine, right?
He reassured himself, though a knot of anxiety tightened in his chest.
Either way, he wouldn’t dare tap the brakes for Hannah, let alone let her step foot inside the vehicle.
He was a brand–new hire, and as far as he was concerned, Isabella was his sole employer.
Watching the sedan rocket away, Hannah stood frozen in absolute disbelief.
Her smug, calculating expression instantly crumbled into a look of sheer horror.
How could this humanly be possible?
How did Isabella have the nerve to ditch her right here?
They had literally come to school together.
And she actually left her stranded on the curb?
Wasn’t she terrified of getting absolute hell from Dad and Adrian?
“Waaaah!”
Hysterical tears streaming down her face, Hannah furiously dialed Isaac’s number.
She was going to drag Isabella’s name through the mud.
She would make sure everyone knew Isabella had maliciously locked her out of the car and abandoned her at school.
This b*tch had gone way too far!
She wept a river of pathetic tears, entirely humiliated under the curious stares of the surrounding students.
Meanwhile, Noah watched the entire spectacle unfold from the comfort of his own luxury SUV,

“D*mn, Isabella really doesn’t give a single crap about playing nice, does she?”
She actually left Hannah stranded right at the main gates.
He had honestly assumed Isabella would eventually cave to family pressure.
After all, school politics was one thing, but dealing with family drama at home was a whole different beast.
He let out a soft chuckle.
Man, it had been a long time since he ran into someone this fiercely unpredictable.
“Let’s roll.”
He rolled up his tinted window with a smirk.
How boring–he had hoped to catch a much bigger show.
Back at the estate…
The moment Isabella stepped through the front doors, she felt the burning glares of Adrian and Daniel locking onto her.
Without a single flicker of emotion on her face, she walked right past them toward the grand staircase.
Adrian’s brows knit together in fury as he barked, “Hold it right there. Were you never taught to greet your own family?
“Where the h*ll are your manners?
“Dad and I are sitting right here, or are you completely blind?”
Isabella’s expression remained deadpan as she paused and glanced back. “Oh, I honestly thought you and Dad were blind.
