But considering Isabella was close friends with Brett, he forced his volatile temper down and gave him a
pass.
Noah couldn’t even comprehend why he was treating this girl with such an insane level of tolerance.
Probably because her gaze lacked the disgusting, star–struck glint of the typical campus fangirls, who looked at him as if he were a diamond–encrusted ladder to ultimate wealth and power.
Simmering with irritation, Noah fixed Brett with a deeply hostile glare.
Realizing his skepticism had been way too obvious, Brett quickly pulled his eyes back to play it cool.
Shifting gears, he offered Noah a diplomatic smile. “Hey Noah, if you hit a wall with the coursework, can always ask me for help.”

Although his own report card was completely mediocre, it was still a million times better than Isabella’s blank slate.
Isabella was basically just filling a seat at Westbrook Academy.
Brett knew the score perfectly well.
The Powells only dragged her here to slap a luxury label on her so she wouldn’t look completely uneducated to their peers.
Therefore, Noah demanding she tutor him was basically a direct insult, throwing her lack of schooling right into her face.
Brett figured he needed to shield Isabella from that humiliation.
After all, getting snatched by human traffickers wasn’t her fault.
Plus, his older brother had explicitly ordered him to look out for Isabella whenever he could on campus.
A violent vein throbbed aggressively against Noah’s temple.
Did this idiot not understand what a cover story was?
Who the h*ll wanted his help with homework?!
It wasn’t like he was actually trying to solve calculus problems.
Wearing a plastic, dangerous smirk, Noah was right on the verge of snapping.
Isabella flatly intervened before a total brawl broke out.
“He’s trying to dig into where I learned my combat skills.
“You know, the moves you witnessed on the highway.”
She explained simply entirely unwilling to watch Brett and Noah blow up at each other.

Noah’s savage temper was something she had already experienced firsthand.
If a feud erupted between him and Brett, the Carter kid would likely end up in a world of trouble.
Hearing her straight answer, a look of sudden clarity washed over Brett’s face. “Oh!
“Okay, now that makes perfect sense.”
So Noah was just hunting for the secret to her insane martial arts!
To be fair, Isabella’s combat mechanics were absolutely breathtaking.
At that realization, Brett instantly launched into a hyper–focused tactical discussion with Noah.
Seeing that Brett was fully aware of Isabella’s supernatural physical capabilities, Noah was deeply intrigued.
The two boys actually ended up exchanging notes quite naturally.
Noah ordinarily operated with zero friends on campus, ruthlessly barking at anyone who tried to kiss up to him to go screw themselves.
But finding Brett surprisingly grounded, he dropped his guard and engaged in a genuine conversation.
They kept trading theories until the final warning bell marked the end of the lunch hour.
Standing off to the side as they eagerly analyzed her physical specs, Isabella stood deadpan.
Something about this setup feels completely out of whack.
Am I suddenly the official campus mascot or what?
In reality, Isabella’s physical mastery carried an absolute, hypnotic attraction for a guy like Noah.
And once Brett let slip that she had literally scaled a vertical canyon cliff with her bare hands, Noah’s mind was completely blown.
“Are you kidding me? Your physical specs are that insane?”
He mapped out the trajectory in his head–free–climbing a sheer rock face along a mountain highway without a harness.
That level of raw stamina and spatial awareness could easily put elite special forces operators to shame.
“Sure.”
Isabella’s face remained flat, her voice entirely devoid of emotion.
To her, a basic cliff descent was child’s play.
It wasn’t even worth mentioning, let alone counting as a proper warm–up.
Back in her prime, she could leap from a hovering transport hundreds of feet in the air without a single piece of safety equipment.
