The Abandoned Luna's Journey to Power (by Emily Reed) novel Chapter 194

Chapter 194 Glad Tidings

King Ryken’s POV:

When my Beta, Morton, burst in, I was studying a report on the internal power struggles within the vampire kingdom.

“My king!”

There was a tremor in Morton’s voice I had never heard before.

He clutched a letter in his hands. The dark red wax seal at the fold was instantly recognizable. It was my son Adam’s personal seal and the highest level of urgency. G

“What happened to Adam? Did something go wrong in Liberty City?” I rose abruptly. The pressure of an Alpha King flooded the hall at once, so heavy that even the candle flames bowed low.

“No, no, nothing went wrong. It’s … it’s something momentous.” Morton presented the letter with both hands. “My king, you should read it yourself.”

I snatched the envelope and tore through the seal.

As I unfolded the letter, my eyes raced over the bold, forceful handwriting.

My breathing stopped.

The blood in my veins, long since cooled with age, surged like molten lava in an instant.

“Good. Good!”

than that, yet he dared grab my beard and bare his tiny teeth at the royal guards beside me, letting out a fierce, babyish growl.

“This child has the makings of a wolf king,” I had said at the time.

But later…

I remembered the horrors Adam described in his letter. A broken leg. Drugs that stole his voice. A body riddled with needle marks. Begging for food like a dog.

A savage killing intent surged up from my chest.

Damned mongrels. Damned traffickers.

How dare they reduce a noble heir of the wolf bloodline to this.

“Morton.” I turned back, my voice once more cold and resolute with royal authority. “Go to Baron Kazek’s estate. They must hear this news first.”
