Chapter 348 You Really Love Her
Cindy’s POV:
“Why are you crying? Who bullied you?” Adam was staggered a little when I crashed into him. He didn’t even have time to brush the snow off his coat before he wrapped his arms tightly around me. His large hands were sore from holding the reins in the cold, but they held me firmly.
He lowered his head, and I noticed his golden eyes were filled with concern and tenderness. With the rough pads of his fingers, he gently wiped away the tears on my face. His voice was low and hoarse. “I’m here now. Don’t be afraid. No matter what happens, I’ll handle it.”
I buried my face in his chest, greedily soaking in his warmth and the calming scent of cedarwood that clung to him. My throat tightened, and I could not speak through my sobs.
After a long while, I finally calmed down. I took his hand and led him into Sephiria’s room.
Sephiria had just woken up. She turned her head slightly, and her cloudy eyes fell on our intertwined hands. Then she saw the way Adam looked at me, full of open and deep affection.
At that moment, a bright light suddenly bloomed in the eyes of this dying woman.
“Sephiria, this is Adam,” I said softly as I walked to the bedside.
Adam showed no trace of a prince’s arrogance. He stepped forward and greeted Sephiria respectfully, “Lady Sephiria, it’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Adam, Cindy’s mate.”
Sephiria stared at him quietly. She could sense the pure and powerful royal blood flowing through him. More than that, she could feel the overwhelming protective instinct radiating from this man, the strong desire to shield me under his wings from any harm.
At last, a sincere and relieved smile appeared on her withered face.
“You’re a good man… Tears of relief slipped from the corners of Sephiria’s eyes. “The way you look at Cindy… no one could mistake it. You really love her.”
She struggled to raise her hand, and Adam immediately understood. He stepped forward and gently held her thin, fragile hand..
“Don’t worry, Lady Sephiria. I’ll protect Cindy with my life. I’ll never let her suffer even the slightest grievance,” Adam promised solemnly.
At last, the final weight in Sephiria’s heart was lifed.

Miraculously, that afternoon, she managed to finish an entire bowl of risotto that I had personally cooked with us by her side. I had added several rare medicinal herbs to it.
Carla and Katic, standing nearby, wiped away tears of joy as they watched her swallow the food.
The heavy atmosphere that had hung over the room for days seemed to fade under this sudden warmth.
