Chapter 35 New Luna
Cindy’s POV:

Prince Adam’s guards, along with the remaining members of the Silverpeak Pack, helped move all my assets and my father’s belongings back into our newly repaired house.
When I saw the familiar crates, I remembered how Jewel had risked her life to protect them.
“James and Evelyn are holding their bonding ceremony,” Prince Adam said as he walked in. “They invited me. Do you want to come?”
“Prince Adam, stop persuading me.” I lightly touched the cold medal in my hand and spoke calmly. “I have my pride and will never go back to that trash. From the moment I accepted the Bond-Breaking Order, he became a dead man to me.”
After Prince Adam left, I sat alone in Howlstead Residence. In my hands was my father’s broken spear, the weapon that snapped during his final battle.
Diana whispered in my mind, her voice low and tense. “Cindy, something was wrong with that massacre. The vampire scent was mixed with another kind of stench.”
“I know.” My gaze hardened as I wrote a letter and sent it out at once. I ordered the academy’s covert scouts -the werewolf intelligence network-to ride day and night and deliver it to the order. I asked them to uncover the truth behind the Battle of Evernight Gorge.
Was the destruction of the Silverpeak Pack really just a vampire act of revenge? Vampires are cruel, but they believe in fair exchange. They do not kill without reason.
A massacre with no clear gain meant something deeper was at play. And that meant there might have been a traitor from within.
James’s POV:
After Cindy left, life became painfully difficult.
Still, to keep my dignity as Alpha and to prove Evelyn’s status to the Royal Court, I insisted on holding a grand Luna inauguration ceremony and officially declared to all that we’re mates.
Evelyn joined the pack as the newly appointed Luna, officially recognized by the Royal Court. This was not just a marriage. It was a transfer of power.
The ceremony was barely respectable. The vaults were empty, but I sold off several ancestral properties to keep up appearances. Most of the powerful werewolves who received invitations still showed up. They came out of respect for the Royal Council and for the battles I once fought.
When guests began to arrive and gifts piled up at the door, Grandma finally felt she had salvaged her dignity.
After we prayed to the Moon Goddess and completed the bonding ritual, we went to greet the elders. Grandma smiled so widely she could barely close her mouth.

The Royal Court had already given its approval. They said that although Evelyn came from a modest background, she was a powerful fighter. A rare female warrior. A Luna who could truly support me.
But what came next at the wedding feast left Grandma stunned. Then furious. Her whole body shook with rage. She nearly passed out on the spot.
Because Evelyn had brought more than a hundred buddies from the army to the party.
They were not formal soldiers. They were rogues and low-level drifters Evelyn had met years ago while running with mercenary crews.
Their clothes were messy. They reeked of dried blood, sweat from days without washing, and cheap tobacco mixed with rough, unstable pheromones. They arrived in a loud crowd and brought no gifts at all.
As Luna, Evelyn should have stayed in the inner hall, welcoming noble guests and keeping the dignity of her role.
But the moment she heard her old combat buddies had arrived, she ran straight out. She planted one foot on a chair and greeted those rough men herself.
“Drink up!” Evelyn laughed loudly. “No one leaves sober tonight! This is the Duskfang Pack’s best stuff!” Her wedding dress stood out sharply in the crowd. Bright. Eye-catching. And completely lacking grace.
We could overlook this. After all, she came from a rough background. A little wildness could be understood.
But the real problem was this: those rogues had no manners. They shouted over one another, released their chaotic, low-grade pheromones without restraint, and caused a scene. Some even whistled at passing Omega servants, openly disrespecting them. They crashed straight into the space of the noble guests.

Kenzi roared inside me, restless and angry. It was the instinctive reaction to our territory being invaded.
The air was thick with cheap, harsh pheromones. It smelled like rotten trash left out too long, and I felt like I couldn’t breathe.
More than a hundred rogues had arrived at once. They took over the front tables-the seats meant for nobles and high-ranking werewolves.
They grabbed meat with their bare hands and tore into it. Wine splashed across the floor and tables. Some even fought over bones, shifting their hands into wolf claws and slashing at each other in full view of
everyone.
Priscilla snapped her head toward Nick, her eyes sharp as knives, telling Nick to fix this mess-now.
Nick froze. He stood trembling in the corner, completely at a loss. No one had told him these troublemakers were coming.
