After leaving the Duskfang Pack behind, Jewel and I didn’t pause even once. We pushed steadily north, then turned westward, heading toward the Werewolf Royal Court. But before reaching that place, there was one final stop we had to make, the ruins of the Silverpeak Pack.
That place had been my home, where my father and my brothers had fought fiercely, risking everything to defend it.
Years ago, Northmere was struck by an onslaught led by several powerful vampire dukes commanding a vampire army. The Silverpeak Pack bore the harshest blow.
My father and my three elder brothers, all Alpha warriors of great power, led our pack in a desperate stand. They poured every ounce of strength into the battle. But in the end, almost the entire Silverpeak Pack was wiped out. Their sacrifice bought just enough time for the Royal Court and other packs to prepare for the coming battle.
When I reached the ruins, all that was left was scorched land and crumbled stones.

“I remember, Cindy. I remember the Alpha’s strong presence and the bravery of your brothers. They were the true defenders of Northmere,” Diana said softly, her tone full of grief and respect. “If they could see all you’ve been through, they’d rise from the Moon Goddess’s embrace just to make those bastards pay.”
I poured the strong liquor I had brought onto the stone and bowed deeply three times. “Dad, my dear brothers, please rest peacefully. I failed to protect the honor of Silverpeak Pack. I trusted the wrong people and nearly let our name be ruined. But from now on, I will restore our glory. No one will ever look down on us again.”
With the ritual finished, my sorrow and anger were released, replaced by a hardened

After several more days of travel, we finally reached the Werewolf Royal Court, a grand fortress perched high on snowy peaks. The Moon Goddess Temple shone brightly in the sunlight.
The guards at the Court were strict. I showed them the Silverpeak Pack’s wolf fang necklace and explained that I wished to meet with King Ryken.
