The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 176

Sunny's smile froze.

The other colleagues, who had been ready to applaud for Victoria, stared in a daze at the woman standing next to Felice.

In an instant, the previously bustling Team Three fell silent enough to hear a pin drop.

Sensing the awkward tension in the air, Felice took the initiative to break it by clapping. "Everyone, please welcome Director Vale."

Genevieve wore a humble, polite smile, as if she hadn't noticed the strange expressions on everyone's faces at all.

The sound of applause started to fill the room.

Someone started it, and soon everyone was clapping in welcome. "Welcome, Director Vale!"

Genevieve said, "I've ordered coffee for everyone; it should be here soon. I also bought some small welcome gifts for you all."

As she finished speaking, two bodyguards walked in carrying two large boxes.

A more tactless colleague craned her neck to see and her eyes widened in surprise. "Are these LV handbags?! Oh my god, there must be at least twenty in here. Director Vale, this is too generous for a welcome gift!"

"It's nothing, as long as you all like them."

Hearing they were from LV, the others were instantly intrigued. They all crowded around, each taking a gift while showering Genevieve with compliments.

Sunny was so angry she could have killed those eager colleagues with a glare. "What is wrong with these people?! Bought off so easily!"

After her silent outburst, Sunny turned to look at Victoria.

She saw that Victoria had already looked away and was now focused on her work emails.

Sunny complained indignantly, "I don't get it! Victoria, shouldn't you go ask Ms. Donald? She must know what's going on. That Associate Director position was supposed to be yours. I have no idea what upper management was thinking, giving it to someone who just dropped in out of nowhere!"

Just as she finished, a gentle voice interjected, "You must be Sunny, right?"

"You can just call me Sunny, Director Vale." Sunny silently rolled her eyes, her smile not reaching them in the slightest, making no effort to hide her displeasure with Genevieve.

Seeing this, Genevieve didn't get angry. She continued to exude kindness as she handed her a new LV handbag. "I noticed you hadn't taken one, so I brought one over for you."

Sunny frowned, suppressing the urge to throw the thing in the trash.

Victoria frowned in annoyance and suddenly stood up. The chair screeched against the hardwood as Victoria abruptly stood up.

An image of Victoria, her eyes bloodshot with rage as she forcefully choked her, flashed through Genevieve's mind.

Almost as a reflex, Genevieve took a wary step back.

Victoria stared at her coldly, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Genevieve, you should be glad I wasn't the one who pushed you. Otherwise, it's debatable whether you'd still have that leg."

Genevieve's face went pale.

But then she remembered the bodyguards behind her and said softly, smugly, "Victoria, you can't touch me. If you don't believe me, take a look at the emblems on my bodyguards."

Victoria looked up, and the emblems on the two bodyguards' chests came into view.

It was the standard emblem worn by Elias's personal security detail.

In other words, Elias had sent these two men to protect Genevieve.
