The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 234

Sunny froze, suddenly realizing Victoria didn't know what was happening online yet. Mentally kicking herself, she averted her gaze, touched her nose, and took a strategic step back.

"Nothing, nothing. It was just a slip of the tongue."

Victoria's eyes narrowed. She grabbed Sunny's arm, seeing right through her. "Tell me. What's going on?"

"It's nothing," Sunny said, her eyes darting nervously.

"Fine, you don't want to tell me? I'll look myself." With that, Victoria pulled out her phone. When she first woke up, her vision had been blurry, and she'd only seen the time, completely missing the dozen missed calls and messages.

The messages were from Cerys Thorne, and the calls were from Sunny and Saul.

Aside from his scheduled monthly work reports, Saul rarely called her.

Victoria immediately realized this was probably serious. She unlocked her phone and opened Twitter.

Seeing this, Sunny quickly snatched the phone from her hand and hid it behind her back. "Victoria, don't look. It's really not a big deal, you..."

"Give it to me." Victoria didn't try to grab it back. She just held out her hand, her expression calm.

But that simple, quiet gesture made Sunny feel an immense weight on her shoulders.

She swallowed hard, making a last-ditch effort. "Victoria, it's really nothing."

Victoria maintained her pose, not saying a word.

Sunny held out for a moment longer but eventually crumbled under Victoria's intense gaze. She handed the phone back, adding weakly, "The people online are just jumping on a bandwagon. If you read it, please don't take it to heart."

Victoria took her phone and looked down. The top trending topic on Twitter immediately caught her eye.

"These are the reports from the hospital after she assaulted me. Because they were only minor injuries, and because of her status as the Sanger heiress, my repeated attempts to report her to the police went nowhere. I've been pushed into a corner with no other options, which is why I'm resorting to this. I'm begging all of you online to help me!"

Rose bowed deeply, then wiped away her tears. "I know you must be wondering why Victoria would target me. To be honest, I didn't know either at first. It wasn't until later, when I couldn't take it anymore, that she told me. It was because I knew she had plagiarized during a design competition in college. She was afraid I would expose her, so she decided she had to destroy me completely!"

"But, Victoria, before you pushed me to this point, I never once thought of exposing you!"

Rose stared ahead as if looking straight through the camera at Victoria, her expression pitiful. "Now, you're famous, and I, whether for my integrity as an architect or because you've backed me into a corner again and again, feel that I must step forward and reveal your true colors!"

"While studying architectural design at Imperial University, Victoria participated in The National Collegiate Architectural Design Awards. She plagiarized her roommate's design to win first place. When her roommate found out, Victoria turned the tables and accused her, inciting a public backlash that drove the other girl to jump off a building to prove her innocence. She was left with a lifelong disability."

"And just recently, that same roommate, whose life she destroyed, died by suicide, drowning herself after a long battle with depression. She's dead!"

"Victoria, you are a murderer! After killing your roommate, Tamara Prescott, are you trying to kill me, too?!"
