The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 243

The Maybach sped down the asphalt road.

Elias's phone was on speaker, and Hawk's voice came through.

"Mr. Shawn, according to the GPS on Ms. Sanger's car, she's about five hundred yards ahead of you."

Hearing this, Elias floored the accelerator.

The engine roared to life, and the usually understated Maybach shot forward like an unsheathed blade.

Soon, he spotted Victoria's MINI Cooper.

His gaze hardened as he gave another order. "Hawk, check on Garnett Sanger's situation."

Besides Garnett, there was no one else who could make Victoria rush out so frantically after a single phone call.

Hawk acknowledged the command and ended the call.

Meanwhile, Victoria gripped the steering wheel, the nurse's words from the phone call echoing in her ears.

"Ms. Sanger, do you have time to come to the hospital? Your father, Garnett, collapsed this morning. He's currently in emergency care and needs a family member's signature."

Collapsed and in emergency care—the words struck Victoria's mind like a club.

She had no time to think, her head filled with the image of Garnett lying unconscious in the ICU the last time.

The thought made her press down harder on the accelerator.

Suddenly, the shrill blare of a horn sounded from behind her. Victoria snapped back to reality and instinctively glanced to the side.

A van was careening straight toward her from the right.

Time seemed to freeze as Victoria's heart hammered against her ribs。 She tried to swerve away.

But it was too late.

CRASH!

The violent impact was deafening. The dark Maybach had accelerated, speeding toward her. Just before the van could hit Victoria, the Maybach slammed into its side, violently knocking it off course and bringing it to a halt.

The impact jolted Victoria's car to an emergency stop, and the airbag deployed.

Inertia threw her forward, and her forehead slammed into the airbag. Pain exploded behind her eyes, and her vision went black for a moment.

Her car had swerved wildly, leaving two deep skid marks on the asphalt before it finally stopped.

Elias's cold eyes tightened, and he reached out to steady her.

Victoria flinched, instinctively dodging his hand as she regained her footing.

Elias's expression darkened. His long fingers curled slightly as he watched her recoil. Displeasure welled up inside him, a heavy, annoyed feeling settling in his chest.

He had just saved her, and this was how she treated him?

Ungrateful woman…

Elias glanced at her pale face, the image of the van hurtling toward her flashing in his mind. The panic that had seized his heart at that moment still hadn't faded.

He wanted to hold her.

He wanted to pull her so close she'd become a part of him, so she could never resist him again.

The urge grew stronger until Elias gave in, reaching out with one long arm and yanking her into his embrace.

Victoria hadn't expected the sudden hug. She froze for a second before trying to struggle free.

His arms locked around her, pinning her in place. He swallowed hard, his voice low and vibrating against her. "Don't move. Or I might just fuck you right here."
