The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 259

Victoria looked between them, a headache starting to form.

She got a glass of warm water, placed it on the dining table, and said flatly, "Here. The warm water you wanted."

Then, she turned to Tobias and held out her hand. "Tobias, can I have that? I'm actually thirsty."

"Victoria," Tobias said, his voice low. He wasn't a fool; he knew she was trying to defuse the situation, and he didn't approve.

Victoria took the bottle from him, a faint smile on her lips. "Tobias, it's winter. It's really too cold to drink something that icy."

Besides, all she wanted was to get this giant headache out of her apartment. It was better to avoid any more trouble.

At her words, Tobias didn't press the issue.

Elias sat at the table, taking in the sight of the two of them talking face-to-face. A grim expression flickered across his face. He took a sip of the warm water, his throat moving as he swallowed, and said irritably, "This is too hot. Get me another one."

Victoria was speechless.

"Victoria—"

With a loud thud, Victoria slammed the unopened bottle of cold water onto the dining table.

From the moment she discovered Elias had paid Sunny to spy on her to him crashing at her place all night, Victoria had been suppressing her anger. Hearing him nitpick now was the last straw.

Her face went cold. "There's cold water right here. If you think it's too hot, Mr. Shawn, then please do me the favor of mixing it yourself."

Elias was momentarily stunned.

It seemed... this was the first time she had ever shown her claws in front of him.

Elias raised an eyebrow, picked up his glass, and actually began to adjust the water's temperature himself.

Victoria stared, taken aback by his compliance.

She had expected him, with his personality, to launch into a tirade of sarcastic remarks, or maybe even smash the glass on the floor and angrily demand how she dared to speak to him that way.

After mixing the water, he handed the remaining bottled water to her.

Victoria snapped out of her daze, looking at him with confusion.

Seeing this, Tobias didn't insist. He simply took the vegetables she hadn't finished washing and continued the task himself.

Elias sat at the dining table, his face dark as he watched their natural interaction in the kitchen.

His grip on his water glass tightened.

Did this woman have no shame, being so openly affectionate with another man right in front of him?!

He wanted to drag Victoria out of there.

But then, remembering her resistance from last night, Elias forced himself to suppress the impulse.

At the same time, his phone buzzed twice. A message from Hawk arrived, reporting that the man from last night had been bailed out. They had interrogated him all night, and their findings matched the police's: the man was just a delusional extremist with no connection to Henry.

Elias's eyes darkened as he replied, telling Hawk to find Henry and Rose as soon as possible.

After sending it, another thought seemed to occur to him, and he sent Hawk another message.
