The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 404

Thump!

Garnett tumbled down the stairs like a puppet with its strings cut. His head slammed hard against a pillar at the landing, and he finally stopped.

“Cough, cough…”

A violent tremor wracked his chest, and he coughed up a mouthful of blood. A buzzing sound filled his ears as shattered images flashed through his mind, feeling like a thousand blades slicing through his flesh.

“Grady was in a car accident two months ago. He went off a bridge. His body was completely destroyed. He’s dead.”

“I can’t accept this. No, why should I have to accept this!”

“Relying on them is useless. I’d rather rely on myself. I’ll make you all pay!”

“I’m the one who had someone tamper with Grady’s car. But don’t you worry, you’ll be joining him soon enough!”

He remembered!

Everything that happened before he fell down the steps in the hospital garden… he remembered it all!

Garnett clutched the stab wound in his abdomen and opened his eyes. Blood from his forehead blurred his vision, staining his sight red.

Tap!

Tap!

Henry descended the stairs, his face a vicious snarl. The dagger in his hand glinted with a cold light, reflecting in Garnett’s eyes like the Grim Reaper’s scythe.

Garnett’s instincts screamed at him to run.

But he couldn’t stand. He could only turn over and crawl, dragging himself toward the door, leaving a long, dark streak of blood on the dusty floor.

Henry toyed with the dagger, following Garnett at a leisurely pace, always keeping a distance of two or three steps.

Garnett had been stabbed and had just tumbled down a flight of stairs. He was already exhausted. Halfway to the door, he could no longer move.

Henry walked up to his side and kicked him hard in the waist.

“Argh!”

The ground outside the abandoned factory was overgrown with weeds. A BMW MINI had just parked, and the driver immediately pushed the door open and got out, looking around as if trying to pinpoint Garnett’s location.

A smile spread across Henry’s face. He pressed Garnett’s head down and sneered, “Old bastard, look who’s here!”

A cold wind mixed with a light drizzle blew into Garnett’s eyes. He struggled to make out the person who had gotten out of the car. His pupils widened, and he desperately opened his mouth to shout.

“Go! Quick…”

But he had lost too much blood. His voice was weak, carried away by the wind. Down below, Victoria couldn’t hear a thing.

Henry heard what Garnett was trying to say. His expression turned grim, and he threw him aside.

Garnett collapsed to the floor, coughing up more blood.

The next second, Henry planted a foot on his back.

“Old bastard, why are you so ungrateful? Your daughter came to save you, so why do you want her to leave?”
