The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 82

"You won't die, but..."

"If I won't die, then draw it."

Seeing the nurse still hesitating, Victoria added, "If you don't, she'll die, and the two bags of blood I just gave will be for nothing."

The nurse heard this, clenched her jaw, and agreed. "Alright. But if you feel any discomfort at all, you must tell me!"

Victoria closed her eyes, remaining silent.

She could clearly feel her strength draining away with her blood, her face growing paler. Only a few minutes had passed, but it felt like it would never end.

"The other donors are here!" someone shouted.

The nurse immediately stopped drawing Victoria's blood, pulled out the needle, and asked worriedly, "Miss Sanger, how are you? Are you okay? Do you feel unwell anywhere?"

Victoria opened her eyes and shook her head slightly, then forced herself to stand.

But before she could steady herself, a wave of dizziness washed over her, and she swayed violently.

Elias's eyes narrowed instantly. He strode forward, about to reach out and support her.

Victoria caught his movement and instinctively flinched away. "If there's nothing else, I'm leaving."

Elias stared at her, his expression unreadable. He withdrew his hand and said in a low, heavy voice, "I'll take you home."

"No need." Victoria refused without a second thought. The corners of her eyes were tinged with red, a stark contrast to her paper-white face, and it stung Elias's eyes.

After a long moment, he asked in a cold, deep voice, "What do you want?"

In truth, when he heard Hawk say that Victoria was the one who matched, his first reaction was no, he couldn't take her blood.

But he never expected Victoria to offer it herself.

That much blood...

Victoria pulled her hand back, putting a little distance between them. Her tone was flat. "Elias, you've noticed something is off yourself, haven't you?"

"If I were the one who pushed her, why would she have conveniently called you beforehand? If I wanted to harm her child, I could have done it long ago. Why wait until the birthday banquet, under the watchful eyes of everyone, to ruin my own reputation...

I can figure all this out, and there's no way you can't. The reason you keep questioning me, insisting it was me, is because you detest me. You refuse to admit that Genevieve got rid of her own child."

Perhaps because it had been so quiet while her blood was being drawn, staring at the slowly filling blood bag had made Victoria's thoughts clearer than ever.

"Whether I'm telling the truth or not, all you have to do is find that maid from last night and ask." Having said so much at once, Victoria was running out of breath. She walked past him and continued toward the exit.

Elias watched her brush past him, a sudden panic rising within him, a feeling that he was about to lose something incredibly important. A voice in his head screamed, 'Don't let her go! If she leaves, she won't come back!'

His fingers twitched, about to grab her wrist again.

But a fist came flying through the air—
