"Miss Sanger is in the room right upstairs, number 1208." Hawk felt his scalp tingle. He swallowed and quickly gave the answer, not daring to be coy. He then carefully glanced at Elias's expression from the corner of his eye.

However, with his years of experience by Mr. Shawn's side, Hawk could sense that this impassivity was masking concern.

He sighed inwardly. Mr. Shawn clearly cares a great deal about his wife, so why is he so unwilling to show it?
