"Eat, why don’t you want to eat?" Redmond was annoyed because Iris refused to eat. She needed to eat something, because tomorrow would be a long day and if she fainted on the way, it would be him that would be hard pressed, since no one here would care enough about her.
At least, that was what Redmond was thinking. He didn’t know that it would be so hard to take care of this runt and he still cursed the alpha for bringing her with them on this long journey. He still didn’t know what was in his mind.
"I don’t want to eat that, I want to eat this. This is enough," Iris said, clutching onto her hard bread. She was satisfied with just this. The sight of a whole roasted rabbit before her eyes terrified her.
However, Redmond still couldn’t get it.
"I feel like I am taking care of a five year old child," he said in exasperation.
"You don’t need to take care of me!" Iris was frustrated and scared, thus she became angry when he persisted in making her eat.
He was the one, who made things difficult, but why was it her, who was being called childish?
"Whatever," Redmond said angrily and turned around, but he left the roasted rabbit near her legs. It was a whole rabbit with its head angled weirdly to the side. Seeing it only left Iris even more mortified.
She scrambled away from the dead rabbit, she hated Redmond for not taking it with him, knowing she was afraid.
But then, Will came to her while bringing a plate with him.
"What?!" Iris couldn’t help but snap, but tears pooled in her eyes when she saw what was in the plate. She thought this man would force her to eat as well, but what she saw was different.
It was actually shredded roasted meat and it was not as terrifying as the whole rabbit that Redmond gave to her.
"Here, you must be able to eat this, right?" Will knelt down in front of her and let her see the meat. The smell wafted to her nose and it looked tasty. "You need to eat. We will be in trouble if you fall sick."
Slowly, Iris accepted the plate. She thought she could eat this...
"Hha! What is that? It’s the same meat, but she accepted his, but not mine?" Redmond exclaimed in askance.
"Are you competing?" Avid, one of the warriors chided him, but Redmond glared at him and continued to eat his snake brashly.
His anger rooted so deep within him, until he ignored Cane’s warning not to approach them.
Once the black wolf got close enough, he could smell the metallic smell of blood in the air. It was so thick, which meant there was a lot of blood there. He soon heard an angry roar from the wolf.
Two savages had died by the time the black wolf reached there, but the brown wolf was not in a condition where he could take down the last three, yet the fire that was burning in his eyes didn’t dim even in the slightest.
Without a second thought, he charged forward to the nearest savage and tore its limbs.
===========================
Iris felt so cold, she was sleeping with only a thin layer of cloak wrapped around her body. The cold wind that blew in through the mouth of the cave made her shiver, as she rubbed her sleepy eyes and looked around her to find it was so dark.
And now, she was not only trembling because it was cold, but also because she was afraid of her dark surroundings. She breathed raggedly, as her eyes zeroed in on the died out bonfire.
She was hyperventilating, as she clutched at her chest painfully. She couldn’t think straight, but then her eyes caught sight of a sparkle of light from the corner of her eyes, much to her surprise, coming from her pocket.
