The Alpha: Claiming His Enemy's Daughter novel Chapter 255

Chapter 255: DAMN YOU, CANE!

There is enough love in his heart to love every single piece of you.

For the most part, it will not show through romantic gestures.

It will creep through his subtle attempts.

It will be loud in his consistency,

And it will present itself as loyalty.

Many men are lovers who have no clue about romanticism.

-Him; Pierre Alex Jeanty-

A relationship was like holding sand in your hand, you should hold it delicately, so it wouldn’t slip through your fingers...

And that was how Iris felt when she hugged Cane. She felt he was going to slip through her fingers. His sanity...

Somehow, Iris knew the dark wisp wouldn’t hurt her and it didn’t, because she had touched it the first time she noticed it and nothing had happened to her, thus she didn’t think twice when she rushed over and held Cane.

The Alpha looked like he was going to fall apart and the sight scared her.

Iris was used to seeing Cane as someone that wouldn’t be bothered even if the skies were going to collapse, someone who would be calm enough to meet plot after plot, because he had his own schemes and could handle everything, under his control.

Therefore, the sight of Cane being so vulnerable like this made her heart shiver.

"Cane, it’s okay... it’s disappeared..." Iris said in a soothing tone, as she watched the dark wisp gradually disappear. "It’s fine now."

Neither of them know how it worked, but now they were convinced, Iris’ presence helped with the disappearance of the dark wisp. It was exactly like how she calmed down the lycan and made it more bearable for Cane to go through the new moon. In the same way, the dark wisp must have something to do with the cursed beast.

Iris caressed his back, but he didn’t say anything, thus she tried to free herself from him, but Cane held her so close, he practically glued himself to her with his warm breath teasing her neck, his lips on her skin.

Seeing him like this, Iris stayed for as long as needed, she didn’t say anything and both of them were engulfed in this silence.

Gradually, the dark sky turned a little bit brighter in the east. As the sun was about to rise, it was a beautiful sight to see and Iris wanted him to see it.

"Alpha..." Iris patted his back. Did he fall asleep? "Look, it’s a new day."

It’s a new day filled with new hope...

It must be Cane, who had carried her to the bed and tucked her in, or else, she would have slept on the floor. freeweɓnovel.cøm

"The Alpha is here, master," Sabian informed Lou. "He is alone."

A flicker of dissatisfaction flashed in his eyes when Lou heard that. Cane really didn’t bring his mate with him and insisted on his lie that Iris was sick when she was perfectly fine. After all, the three of them had met just last night.

"Okay," Lou said callously, but he didn’t get up from his bed, as he stabbed the grapefruit with a fork and put it into his mouth indolently.

The sight made Sabian furrow his brows as he grew anxious because he knew what his master was up to. "Master, don’t you want to meet with him?"

"Nah, he can wait," Lou said nonchalantly. "I am not really interested in meeting him without that red hair."

If Iris was not there, why would he want to meet with Cane in such a hurry? He could wait for another minute... or hour.

However, Lou should know by now that the Alpha wouldn’t play his little, petty games, because five minutes later, a guard rushed into the room to report what Cane had said.

"The Alpha said he will leave if you don’t appear within two minutes, Master," he said in a cautious tone. "He stressed he doesn’t have time to wait."

"Damn you, Cane!"
